Time Stones or Good Futures?

>> No.7022658

Real players do both.
But otherwise, time stones. Memorizing the UFO patterns can get bullshitty and it's more enjoyable to explore the levels anyway.

>> No.7022849

If they ever remake Sonic CD, reorchestrate both US and JP soundtracks and give US its own past themes, it's the one thing the game nailed down excellently

Did they end up fixing the special stage speeds for Gems Collection?

When I was a kid I thought the only way to get the good end was to do both. So I did...

The best Sonic game of all time.

>> No.7023256

as much as I love Sonic CD, I've never managed to get the good ending.

I always ends up screwing up the special stages somehow, and I usually end up failing to get to the past versions of the stages, not that I know where the things you have to destroy are.

Good Futures run for JP Soundtrack.

Time Stones run for US soundtrack. US has the better Special Stage song.

Bad Ending run for US if you want to hear the bad future themes you miss on the Time Stones run.

Hitting the UFOs gets much easier if you keep in mind that their position in the map is given by their shadows.

>> No.7024881

>>7022651
Going for the good futures is what the whole game is about. The time stones are literally just there as an easier alternative for a good ending.

Started playing this for the first time, and loving the challenge of finding the teleporters and special stages. JP/EU soundtrack rules. Shame there's little incentive to go back to the Future after you destroy the teleporters.

How do you guys feel about Metal Sonic? Why is he so underutilized, overshadowed by Shadow? Even in the game, you only get foreshadowings of the holograms, and fight Metal Sonic only once, and that's it. I really like how the OVA portrayed his motivations, that there can only be one true Sonic, and he's basically the equivalent of all his abilities and personalities, but under Robotnik's order and rule.

Anyways, here's a cool comic (yeah yeah nu-Sonic/IDW-comic shit).

Metal Sonic got as much presence as he possibly could in the Genesis era. Shadow was the same in the Dreamcast/PS2 games. I think they're fairly balanced in popularity. And Metal Sonic is the coolest and more in line with the series' themes imo

I actually really liked how he was portrayed in Sonic Heroes. He tried to put on a tough front, but he was clearly a mess of issues because he was a robot with no identity beyond destroying and replacing Sonic, but he just can't do it. During the final battle he even slips up and yells "See me as I am, no longer afraid of anything!" at one point. Motherfucker's secretly terrified of having to fight Sonic and losing again.

What's up with this giant plus sign in Palmtree Panic 1? It doesn't appear anywhere else in the game, and neither do any more huge bird's-eye-view ramps.

Sonic CD soundtrack + sound efects really blew my mind back them.

Fuck hipsters, I love the JP soundtrack but Spencer Nilsen-sama's soundtrack is also kino and in some ways stronger.

yeah, he would play Joe Montana back then. But had to keep it at mid volume at tops so I couldn't damage his speakers.

I started playing Super Mario Brothers when I was four, but that's pretty young. Maybe try to go with the most straightforward and easy games. I haven't played it but isn't Kirby supposed to be really easy, yet a great game? it's certainly looks cute, so I'd imagine that kids would like it.

My first ever vidya was Super Mario Bros. 3. Even if I barely passed World 1 into 2, I still played the shit out of it and got my early reflexes there. As for Sonic games, I started with 3 as it was the most impressionable for me story-wise.
