What games for Playstation have the best graphics?
I know you guys like that low poly stuff.

These are the most-aesthetically pleasing games I can think of.

If you're looking for a game that pushed the PSX to its limits from a technical perspective you might check out pic-related though.

The Crash and Spyro games look good. R4, Legend of Mana, WipEout 3, and the Oddworld games all look nice, too.

Yes, but no z-buffer was needed so they look awesome. The pixel art of that era is god-tier.

>>7013242
The PS never had an actual sprite capability, I believe. So "sprites" are pasted to polygon sides as texture maps instead of actual sprites, and from there the PS can rotate or morph/warp them.

>posting that shit port of darkstalkers
and I dunno, sometimes some devs could do some cool conversions or nice 2D games on PS1 but most of the times 2D on PS1 looked like pic related, washed out and jarring.
Saturn was the better 2D option, by a longshot.

>> No.7013292

The PSX has just enough 2D capabilities to display a tiled background. All the sprites are actually textures on transparent polygons. The Paystation didn't even have enough memory for the common 2D games of the time either. So most of them have either fat black bars, or choppy animations. Bottom line is, the Playstation didn't do 2D justice. It didn't do 3D justice. It did come with the Sony make.believe mindfuck engine though.

Yeah, this video shows what it looks like when you disable textures in these games.

Its a shit port sure, but I'd say it still looks nicer than the fugly 3D games of the time.

All three 5th gen systems had SHIT 3D capabilities.
All three had great 2D capabilities in their own way. Saturn being the best, but the other two had greatness as well.
Benefits of higher bit-depth and larger storage space on game media. Even the N64's limited cart capacities were more than enough for stored sprite and bg data.
The DC was the first decent 3D system.

Very little artistic depth in 3D arcade games compared to 5th gen console. Early Sega stuff like Virtua Racing and Fighter are standouts because of their primitive look, and there are some less popular arcade games like Soukyugurentai that did have some real dingy appeal, but I doubt those are the types of games you're talking about; if you can't see the beauty of 5th gen polys you've likely got basic bitch taste
