san andreas is probably a better game overall, but there's something about vice city that's so damn endearing. I think SA's map is too big, I know vice city like the back of my hand. I could probably drive from Tommy's apartment to the airport with my eyes closed

Everyone always thinks "best action game", when they think of the "best" games for consoles, but nobody takes the time to remember "best comfy game".

My vote for best comfy game goes to "ChoroQ" / "Road Trip" (depending on localization).

Quick rundown:
>The only existing caRPG (you play as a car in a world of sentient cars, who live in houses, etc.)
>Open world, big map with lots of different locales/environments, can go anywhere you can reach, lots of reasons to explore
>Actual racing is almost an afterthought, but you always get one big classic race mission per locale
>Lots of minigames with a touch of challenge, but nothing high-intensity or white-knuckle difficult (if it seems impossible, just come back after finding more car upgrades)
>You can collect tons of shit to customize/upgrade yourself
>You can "custom-build" (just basically choosing where to put shit on a 5x5 grid) your own city to call home, where you can do all your customization and maintenance
>Nearly-consistent 60fps
>COMFFFY as fuck music, even though much of it is SNES-tier

Damn shame too.
I still remember the first time I fired a gun in SA and it sounded like a ping-pong ball hitting a pillow. I figured it must have been a one-off shitty recording, to make the basic pistol feel weak, but then I fired a shotgun that sounded like a softball hitting a wet carboard box, and I realized all the gunfire sounded like various small objects hitting soft targets.
