He's been showing up at the Twitch stream from time to time, he was even around for the Captain Tsubakai episodes he subbed.
It was interesting to get his mindset on things, like he's against any type of localization (He refuses to use Kacho, and instead subs it as section chief.)
However he was still pretty cantankerous when scenes like 'V2' or 'Jew' were brought up either admitting he didn't know what it said, or blaming Japanese for being vague.

Like during Inoue's Challenge for the lemming 24 hour when Arino mentioned someone would upload it to Youtube since Kan said they would not rebroadcast it or put it on a DVD. Of course it was a lie. But they did delete everything off youtube like Kan promised he would.

Also if you need a glimmer of hope, Twitch added a Nico Nico option where the text from the stream chat scrolls across the stream video exactly like Nico Nico.

Now I don't mind a few liberties being taken if a particular phrase or joke doesn't work outside of Japanese but when you try to make Arino look like he's saying "LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO" that's more than enough to tell you that this subber's work isn't of acceptable quality compared to all subtitles done by other groups working on GCCX. Three of the four new gaming boards are already slower than old /vr/ ever was. New /vr/ being three times faster has permanently changed what and how things are able to be discussed here, and a lot of the regular contributors who abandoned this board are not ever coming back. They should've tried that /v2k/ board suggestion as one of the additions instead of changing the rules here. It might be too late to fix things now.

Technically, neither "kachou" nor "section chief" fall squarely into these buckets, but "kachou" isn't even a translation, let alone a localization. You're just going full TV Nihon weeb shit and not translating a word where an English equivalent exists.
Something like "Supervisor" is probably a better "localization" than "section chief", which is a literal translation.

If the geese put the family name first every time, I would disagree with it, but it would be their choice. What they're actually doing seems to be random, like they're not taking the time to make sure that the names are correct.

I'll give some examples from the first Rondo episode. The trip narrator had her family name first. Director Takahashi had his given name first. PR Ogawa had her given name first, but they seem to have used an incorrect reading this time. AD Kobayashi had his family name first.

When writing Japanese names in English, it's conventional to have the given name first and the family name last. You see this almost everywhere, like with Olympic athletes. Other languages may be different, but that's just how it's done with Japanese.

Like I said, I would disagree with doing it the other way around, but it would be a choice if it were consistent. The geese seem to need some help with this, since they're not consistent and are making mistakes.

The Chinese and other asian nations striaght up demand everyone to follow their conventions of family name first. However, Japan has not made such demands so it results in a lot of confusion and there's no set rule. It seems to be a per case basis. I even see Japanese material printing Japanese names using Latin characters and then typing them out family name last.
