Technically a remake of one of the Game Boy games, but it's practically a new game. If Haunted Castle, IV, X68000/Chronicle and MSX are treated as remakes of 1 here, so it should be no different.

The drum samples aren't as harsh in the SMB3 version. It's clear that the SMB2 proto version was an early draft since SMB3 wasn't yet released in Japan. If someone would extend the SMB3 revision to include the breakdown from the earlier cut it would be perfect.
