Was it fun? I intentionally set the cash machine a bit low down in the research tree but I may have overdone it. But since you did it in 3 years, I'd say that's about right.

>> No.695151

>>695131
It'll do. There's not a whole lot you can do with height restrictions so any ride that could manage a decent profit would have to be custom made. The lowest most profitable ride would be go karts, and it's already researched.

I just hate doing research on stalls alone and getting 15 kinds of useless food stands before something helpful like a cash machine. Guests don't care weather they eat a candy apple or a burger so why should it matter if they are already researched when you start a scenario? Time spent on research for a stall is time taken away from new rollercoasters and at best, a profitable thrill ride.

>> No.695212

>>695151
Too bad the various stalls are there only for diversity and not based on any guest preference. At least with rides there is an intensity preference.

>> No.695216

Aren't various types of food filling the hunger bad differently? I don't see pretzels being as efficient as pizza. It should be taken into account.

>> No.695221

>>695216
Pretzels don't create rubbish so it's possible they fill less hunger. With that said, you can charge for 2 pretzels for the same price of a pizza and get the same hunger ratings. Depends how much of a jew you are.

>> No.695253

>>695151

Yeah, I reckon I can fiddle with the research tree a bit. I think I included too many stalls overall anyway.

The strange thing is that it's ridiculously easy and cheap to build a junior coaster with an excitement of around 6, and people were paying £8 for it. Made up about 90% of my profit for the first 6 months.

>> No.695273

>>695253
Then why build other types of roller-coasters if i can achieve any excitement level within the guests preferences with just one? Just to diversify the park?

>> No.695312

>>695273

Eh, any scenario is going to require some level of creativity and self-imposed challenge from the player. I almost never build multiples of the same ride (occasionally I will build two of the same coaster type if the park is really big) and don't delete any present scenery unless it gets in the way of something I'm building (and even then I will try to build around it).

Just about any scenario is easy if you just build shuttle loops and go-karts, but then you might as well not play the game because that's not exactly fun....

The original links before Putlocker were Mediafire. They were actually using my Dropbox at first, but it had a traffic bandwidth cap and the plan failed because there are too many of you assholes. Mediafire had a 200mb cap and posed a slight problem for people who were new to the concept of extracting multi part archives. Putlocker's has a nice limit of 1gb or something and it's working out nicely. But in the end, all these hosts could take down the links anyday. Why isn't MEGA a good choice?

Asking for a scenario I'm thinking of making:
What coaster types do you use the most? The least?
What gentle/thrill/water rides do you use the most (other than go-karts and splash boats)? The least?
What stalls do you use the most (other than ATMs/Restrooms/Info Kiosks)? The least?
What scenery group is your favorite? Least favorite? Most and least used?

>> No.725224

>>725201
I like twister coasters and the floorless variant, but lately I've picked up on hyper-twisters and giga coasters.
I like most of the thrill rides but my favorites have to be the swinging ship & inverter variant.
For stalls, I like the fries, lemonade, burgers, cookies, basic foods like that.
For scenery, I like mechanical, mine, medieval, and urban themes. I never use shit like Giant Garden.

1. Twister Coasters (and it's variants) are good, Giga Coasters are nice too. Wooden is mandatory. I don't like the more gimmicky coasters
2. I like the Ghost Train/Haunted House, Go-Karts too. I don't really have a flat ride that I really like or don't like.
3. Pizza/Drinks/Burgers. I've never used the Asian themed ones.
4. I like the Roman themeing a lot, the pieces that are available are nice and it makes you work with the environment around it a lot more too. The Expansion Pack themes are ugly.

>> No.725415

>>725201
Probably use the B&M and Intamin rides the most (Vertical Drop/Twister/etc and Giga/Inverted Impulse/etc if you don't recognize the manufacturers). I can't recall using the Bobsled or Mine ride ones, ever.

Other than Go-karts and splash boats? Probably the pirate ship and Motion Simulator for thrill, River Rapids and Log Fume for water, and the Slide and marry-go-round for gentle. Never used any of the slow track gentle rides or the river ride, and only used the vertical tower thrill rides like once or twice.

Soda/Drinks stall, the Pizza or burger stalls, and the basic souvenir stall. Never really use the Asian stalls or the deserts/small food stalls.

Can't really say I have a favorite scenery group. Hate all the expansion scenery groups though. Most used is probably the basic objects (Mine or Roman theme if you're pushing for an answer), and least used would be the Sports theme (I have NEVER used it) with Urban and the giant garden/wonderland stuff right behind.

Cheap, proftable rides like go-karts, enterprise, top spin, junior coaster. Most of those you can charge $5-8 per ride.

I built a junior coaster with around 6 excitement that was my main profit maker for the first 6 months of the year. Use block brakes and, if you have room, simultaenous on- and offloading stations to maximise throughput

You know those suspended rollercoasters?

Make a station, and have it go into a half-loop. Should cost only $500 total. Tweak the launch speed so the train doesn't go flying off the edge of the half loop. This will give you a six-second ride with some very good stats. You'll make a killing off it.

Someone said the same thing with 8 excitement. So I spend 16 hours making this fucker. The best thing you can do is push the intensity as close to 10 without going over as possible, which is the same for any coaster. Meaning, a ton of helix's and a ride time over 3 minutes if you want a excitement over 7.

>> No.750179

>>750163

But you've also got a second coaster running next to it, which gives a significant boost. Can you save the design and build it in coaster designer and see what it gets?

Good to see you can still get decent excitement with intensity over 9. I always assumed my excitement was low because of the high intensity, but maybe I need to focus more on making it longer.

Is this game deep and complex or is it pretty broken once you know what you're doing? I learned pretty quickly that go karts were the most profitable and a lot of corners could be cut with scenery.

That said, if there was a RCT4 what would you like to see added to make it really a complex simulation game. I would add in the ability for guests to observe track layouts and perfer long interesting tracks over boring tiny circuits (that you would normally make in RCT2)

It's more complex when you try to "win" while making an aesthetically pleasing or realistic park--the most celebrated parks are not those that generate the most $$$.
