This one was on my backlog for a while. With all the RE4 shitposting going on I decided to see what the fuss was all about, and it turned out to be one of the best games I ever played. It's no wonder every game after aped it's style. I have hardcore nostalgia goggles for the old REs but it's impossible to see this thing as anything but an upgrade.

I got a friend that had all PlayStation consoles and yet only played from RE5 on PS2 onwards, and then remake on PS4.

RE4 is a very good game but it is no upgrade, its just a different style of game.
I also liked a lot the RE2 Remake but it will NEVER replace the original, because it isn't an actual remake it is more of a good re-imagination with the style of RE4.

Its not retro but I'll plug 'Alisa' as being a great upcoming og RE clone. It looks very much like it was made in '96 and the tank controls are delicious.

We do actually have hard date of the originals vastly outselling RE4 though.
RE4 never broke 2.5 million or so in an individual release, while RE2 and 3 were comfortably at 5 million and 3.5~ million respectively (and that's just for their PSX releases, and Capcom hasn't given numbers on any other releases).
