Real talk:

I just bought some ps2 games from gamestop (Got Katamari, We Love Katamari, and Monster rancher 3)

Debating if I want to play them on my ps2 or just emulate them and reap the HD benefits from emulation.

The only reason I'm debating is because I am too lazy to hook up my ps2, but If i dont play them from disk I'll feel like my purchase was for nothing

You're kidding right?
The vast vast majority of games of this era were developed for NTSC regions, and a majority of NTSC games ported to PAL territories were never PAL optimised resulting in slower timing and obnoxious borders.

That's besides the point though, this NTSC filter is only a post-processing filter, which attempts to recreate the image quality based on a video output cable from system to display.

Try Super Metroid with Blargg's NTSC filter sometime, it adds a lot to the atmosphere can you believe.

Not the same guy, but you mean any of the countless old televisions getting tossed out? Any of those old TVs provides an "authentic" experience, but /vr/ has a boner for the very specific Trinitron for some reason as if it's the most authentic when in reality, most people just had regular old televisions.
