All metroidvanias are relativily easy compared to other platformers. If this guy couldn't figure that out and puts it as 'ball kicking hard' I don't see how he can be an expert. 'Gloomy atismphere' is also a questionable category. The genre's library is no more or less gloomy then other side-scrollers.

An 'action rpg' is just an action game with stat ups. Westerns have been doing that forever with their non-turn based dungeon-crawlers, both the first person and overhead ones. When I played on normel with 9 lives I would earn continues faster then I lost them and essentially had unlimited lives. And I wasn't even that good.

There are two definations of RPG.

One is that you can role-play--something that is practically unheard of in JRPGs, almost exclusive to WRPGs.

The other is that it has stats you can raise.

Anything beyond that is some definition you made up which you are not even bothering to explain. We can't read your mind retard.
