Go fuck yourself you rotten little cunt, you never even played it

Not a single game on that load of shit is worth playing. Only the most poverty stricken 40+ year old brits even have nostalgia for worthless junk.

How about Atic Atac? Knight Lore? Head over Heels? The Dizzy series? Jet Set Willy? Chuckie Egg? Those are all AAA+ titles, not to mention Speccy had even more accurate arcade ports than the NES or other home platforms at the time.

Those are all dogshit and the arcade ports to the Spectrum are legendarily awful. Enough with this ironic meme of pretending this crap is in anyway decent.

NES got weird butchered ports that were basically different games, The Speccy got 100% accurate arcade ports albeit within the limitations of the hardwarwl

They're all shit. Every single game released on this worthless PC is undeniably shit. Now as I have said before enough of this /v/ tier meme of pretending it's good.

How were they accurate? What games are you thinking of? Please cite examples and say why.

>> No.6923240

They were true to the arcade version as opposed to butchered NES ports like Bionic Commando.

Outstanding Speccy ports would be
Rainbow Islands
R-Type
Double Dragon
Bionic Commando
Chase HQ
Space Harrier
Arkanoid
Star Wars Arcade
Commando

That's just reality. Nothing on the Spectrum is remotely worth playing and Bionic Commando on the NES is a great game.

Its better on Speccy

NES "port" was explicitly meant to be a different game.

Rainbow Islands was best on the C64, or perhaps the Amiga.
Double Dragon was an awful conversion, almost as bad as the 7800 version.
Chase HQ and Arkanoid were enhanced and released with special controllers for the Famicom by Taito.
Space Harrier on Spectrum is a horrifying abortion and the NES port was by Taito. Best version of Space Harrier is on the 32x; best 80s version was on the Master System.
Star Wars Arcade had its best port on the 32x. Coleco would have been THE version to play in the 80s.
Capcom developed Commando for the NES; it wasn't a middleman thing like Elite on the Speccy.

*NES port was by Tengen

Bionic Commando is an abysmal port of a mediocre arcade game on the ZX Spectrum. On NES it's an entirely new and much better game.

>> No.6923272

>>6923267
Yeah but its not an arcade port anymore is it? Thats why Speccy has the better ARCADE PORTS

Lets see you could have a tailor made game of significantly higher quality on NES or a terrible port for Spectrum. What a tough choice.

also didn't Rare get into NES development because they thought its games were so much better than the dreck on UK home computers?

>> No.6923524

>>6923510
No, they did for the dosh and that's all, because they knew good or bad Amerisharts would pay 50 quid for it

>Double Dragon was an awful conversion, almost as bad as the 7800 version.
The C64 DD was much much worse, it's literally up there with the Atari 2600 Pac-Man for being the worst arcade port of all time.
>Chase HQ and Arkanoid were enhanced and released with special controllers for the Famicom by Taito.
Not impressed with the NES Arkanoid. The controller was cheap and broke easily and the game didn't even have the intro sequence.
>Capcom developed Commando for the NES; it wasn't a middleman thing like Elite on the Speccy.
The C64 and Amiga had great port of Commando. The NES one was a bug-filled bleepy mess because it was the first game Capcom developed for the system and they didn't really know what they were doing.
