The successor to the ZX Spectrum, the ZX Spectrum+ had 128k memory and a dedicated sound chip. This made it superior to the NES in most aspects. Why was it never exported to the United States?

Commodore basically nuked the entire low end computer market in the US and also the early 80s recession was lifting which made Sinclair-tier machines unappealing to Americans.
