I was going to say entire Amiga catalogue, but I don't think they even look that good, just very average and mostly the Amiga 1200, not the Amiga 500.

Literally anything people recommend on the Amiga. Everything else on the platform both looks bad and plays bad.

Final Fantasy VII. It was just a SNES JRPG with prerendered backgrounds. Not even a real 3D game in any meaningful way.

I wish this game was good. I like 2D action sidescrollers and it has the exact kind of dumb shallow cyberpunk aesthetic I love

it both looks great and is sexy, sadly the gameplay seems horrible.

Almost any game made outside Japan.
Earthworm Jim, Vectorman, Xmen 2, Plok, Comix Zone immediately spring to mind

Only Plok and X-Men 2 play poorly in this list.

There are very few games that control like such utter dogshit despite having really fluid animations

the game kinda looks like shit in motion too though

(Tempo on the 32X)

agony is not bad to play, and as a shmup its not bad for the time, its just the graphics were that much better than the gameplay

Pic-related epitomizes this. The visuals, animation, and FMV were an impressive technical achievement and the soundtrack was even kind of cool but the gameplay is a miserable heap of dogshit.

Oooh that's spot on, anon. I can't think of any game that put more effort into visuals and less effort into gameplay.

>Earthworm Jim
First one combines top-tier cartoony animations and solid level design, variety comes from main mechanics and not retarded gimmicks like in second entry.
>Vectorman
Extra-nice controls and impact, solid enemies and bosses in both games, levels are meh DOS-tier labyrinths.
>Xmen 2
It's ok most of the time, some characters are overpovered.
>Plok
Pretty boring early on but then redeems itself. One of the prettiest platform games on SNES, even prettier than Yoshi sometimes.
>Comix Zone
Very polished game with incredible replayability, unicue mix of beat em up and puzzle adventure. Controls are simply perfect.

>> No.6919470

>>6919230
I don't think that's such a paradox. fluid motion in a game either means the control is going to be slippery, or there's going to be laggy inputs by design because the character needs warm up frames of animations for running and jumping, or it's a cinematic platformer

sure but this game takes it to the next level by using fighting game style running (double tap in direction and hold) and truly strange jumping mechanics (you can instantly lose all upward momentum during a jump and your jump height is always really inconsistent for some reason.)

It's the stickiest shit you can imagine.

>solid level design
Not really. Also pretty wonky collision detection as all Dave Perry games have.

Believe it or not, this soulless tech demo even got a sequel.

Rise 2 was a mediocre game and not super impressive considering the more powerful hardware it was made for, but it felt like MvC2 compared to the first one.

First game has real challenge, levels are not just the excuse to show funny things.
>pretty wonky collision detection
any examples
hardest level for me was second underwater level and sub-marine collision was fair enouth
