For me, it's SimCity 3000 Unlimited. Best music. Hottest advisors. Coolest disasters. Fairest challenge. Best fun

Close but not quite OP
>Coolest disasters. Fairest challenge
Real talk, SC3 disasters can fuck right off. Even on normal difficulty the game throws way too many at you even at the start.

SC4 is the peak of the franchise, but SC3 and prior are still great games. They're mostly just incremental upgrades of the first game anyhow.

Why was the soundtrack for this game so comfy?
I mean, all the Simcity titles have good soundtracks, but SC3K is particularly comfy.

Not him, looks like the dev was linking to game assets: https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-takes-down-open-source-simcity-2000-remake-for-using-copyrighted-assets/

The GitHub repo is up and shows a change about 9 months ago. https://github.com/nicholas-ochoa/OpenSC2K

Did anyone else find this game slightly eerie?
Not in a creepypasta kind of way. Not even necessarily frightening, just slightly "off". Sort of strangely lonely and distant, with a vague sense that something untoward could be going on in the background.

I think the soundtrack and the developmental state of the game helped create that feeling. Simcity 2000 was too abstracted: sims were just pixels in a crowd at best. Simcity 4 was too developed: You could actually follow individual sims and drive around your city. In Simcity 3000 you can see individual sims, as sims, walking around the city - but still in a form too abstracted for you to actually interact with. Then there's the temporal oddity of running steam trains and DC-3 airliners alongside modern subway systems, glowing green waste disposal factories and microwave electricity receivers. Where Simcity 2000 and 4 were obviously essentially contemporary, Simcity 3000 was a strange mishmash of the very old and the very new alongside the present.

I always thought it was a little creepy, between the music, the advisors faces when they get angry, and the art style it was never possible for me to get comfy like I could with SC4.

I was too much of a brainlet for Sim City 3000. I had a copy for years, but couldn't get into it. Honestly, even Sim City 2000's pipe system was too much for me to handle. Maybe reading the manual would have helped? For me, it's 2000 and the SNES version. But I have listened to 3000's OST on Youtube on occasion, it's chill and I think that game is what got me into jazz and cafe music.
