I wasn't there for it. I just opened the board, here's page 0.

Chill your sage, keep it fresh.

And clearly at least one person missed out on it and wants to discuss it. Not his fault he's not on /vr/ 24/7.

If he's the only one, it will die and go away. If he's not, then it's fine, there are plenty of other threads to see.

Polite sage because I was in the other thread and got bored of the subject already.

It's not just that we already had this thread, it's that it was full of shitposting and invited /v/-tier behavior into /vr/.

wow, really?
>>684272

here,
well if we could stay away from that it'd be great I guess.

But I just have to ask, was this an organized troll, or are people really this clueless and incapable of critical thinking now?

This is just inexcusable...

anyone have the pic with people a little father but still needing help?

>> No.685184

To be fair, Metroid games can leave you stuck if you have no prior knowledge.

The actual sad part of this is that they have to turn to an online source to help them instead of asking their brother or friends or whoever because they are all buried in their own media on consoles, laptops and phones, etc.

Plenty of parts of games I wouldn't have beaten if my Dad didn't give me hints or friends didn't show me a secret and that kind of family/friends focus on one TV is dead now.

>> No.685195

The thing is, this isn't new. My friends and I used to get stuck like this in games all the time. If we had the Internet then like it is now, we'd probably be asking the same dumb questions.

The funny thing is that people like egoraptor forget how confusing games were before tutorials, especially for little kids who were the original target for video games (especially the Nintendo ones). Of course, Game Grumps shows even the almighty egoraptor gets stuck at really stupid, "obvious" spots so fuck him and fuck anyone who hates on tutorials.

>> No.685204

Am I the only one who completed this as a kid without any help?

To be fair, people post plenty of dumb questions here that they could and should just Google.

He talked about tutorials in that Megaman X video he made. The Naughty Bear Game Grumps has them bumbling around like morons because he's wrong about tutorials and their usefulness.

/vr/ isn't as fast as /v/ , and if someone learnt how to use the catalog, that wouldn't be a problem.

Also, the thread was mostly created out of fucking nowhere, with no comment on the picture. It's useless and should just disappear.

I dunno, good games weren't confusing for me.

Fuck tutorials.

When I was about 8, my friend and I got stuck at the beginning of this part in Mystic Quest because neither of us realized you had to press A to get on the weighted carts. We gave up and he found it out years later.

>> No.688972

This is getting stupid and out of hand. Can't we just accept BOTH sides of the issue? These games were sold with a booklet and magazines and whatever there's little to no help in the game because there was emphasis on the metagame. Now the metagame emphasis shifted to "I have to be better than my friend" so nobody's trying to help each other. (Or maybe something else entirely but I wanted to joke about metagaming).

Anyway.
That's silly, who never got lost in a game? Who can tell me without looking it up what are the items to equip in SOTN to access the inverted castle?

>> No.688994

>People getting stuck
>/vr/ taking for granted the fact that they now know what to do and are picking on those who haven't a clue.

Some people get stuck, some people don't. Who cares?
