What's your favorite 6th gen beat'em up?

>> No.6841159

Hard to match God Hand. I kinda like Urbain Reign but on the higher difficulties it feels like some damage is just plain unavoidable

It's a good game where your attacks do more than just inflict damage. It got the effort most third person games do for animation but in first person, which is very interesting to see when even the biggest first person games at the time and even today still use disconnected viewmodels or don't have actual animations for pressing, holding or using anything in the game world.

Which ones do you prefer the most 2D or 3D ones. Me 2D ones because of the sprites but both feel mindless except for ones that are really well made.

2D ones, 3D bmups struggled with satisfying throws and crowd control or just felt clunky. Neither's mindless unless you only play easy difficulties or use continues out the ass

Unironically, The Bouncer

Game had amazing graphics and CG (for it's time), an upgrade system, about 20 characters (although a quarter of that is Dauragon C Mikado), and a very memorable soundtrack that's still in my head to this day. It also made use of PS2 gimmicks like pressure sensitive controls. Too bad the game is super short, and that other characters don't have their own story mode

I really liked how you could customise your character and get almost any guy you find to join your gang if you beat them

For me, it's gotta be Spikeout.

Spikeout
Dynamite Cop
Zombie Revenge

The holy trinity of 3D bmups.

There's not much 3d about the gameplay. It could have been done with sprites.
