I save scum. And not just regular save scumming like at the start of a level or just before a boss. I am a habitual save scummer. I have quick save and quick load bound to my controller and I'm saving as often as I'm jumping. Good jump? Save. Full health? Save. Took 1 damage? Load.

I do levels one "first-down" at a time, until I've slowly completed it to perfection. I don't even remember what it's like to play a video game naturally anymore.

If you want to slowly break the habit, just use a Wii with its downloaded ROMs. Sure it saves states, but you can't do anything but pick right up where you left off making it a glorified pause.
