You know what was disappointing to me? The fact that when you played Richter Mode it was kind of too easy. His moveset is really fun. Not that SotN wasn't easy as Alucard anyway, but still.

Protip for anyone complaining about low difficulty:

Equip no armor save for the spike armor where necessary. Having next to no defense drastically boosts the amount of damage you take so everything doesnt take 50 hits to kill you.

Don't use Soul Steal at all.

Fun fact:

If you ran the PC Engine CD version of Rondo of Blood with the wrong System card(Version 2.0 or lower, Rondo requires 3.0 or a Turbo Duo) you would get into this stage telling you to insert the right System card.

My main beefs with the inverted castle are that the bosses and item progression seem more haphazardly put together, as well as there being less variety in the music. I do like being able to explore and collect items and beat bosses in a non-linear order, but it just feels a little too loose, I guess.

If there was some way to transfer items or New Game + maybe it'd be worth doing, but there's already many ways to break the game (Keeping Alucard equipment glitch, Shield Rod + Alucard Shield, Crissaegrim, Duplicator, Ring of Varda, etc) that don't require much effort. Familiars level up easily if you go item hunting, or you can use Duplicator+Bomb on a Spectral Sword. Muramasa can be leveled enough from the octopus room, or even just regular enemies if you get it early.

Just finished playing another play through with 99 luck at start. So many items dropped, made it far to easy. Took like 3 schmoo to get the crissg and I got back to back varda rings as drop.

I would love to see a true sequel to this game. New castle, items, familiars and outdoor areas that go beyond the castle. Wishes..... GBA don't cut it.
