Hayato showed up in MVC2, June showed up in Project X-Zone 2, and then I think there have been a few cameos here and there in other games, but for the most part the series goes unremembered and the characters unused.

I have never played the PS1 game, but it's sequel on the Dreamcast is a lot of fun.

The sequel was never ported to any other systems beyond the Dremacast. Probably why the series never took off.

The problem is that it’s a terrible 3D fighter. Hayato was my favorite character to play in mvc2 if they had made it a 2d fighter with sprites, it would have been a far superior game.
