I like Lament the most. Many may disagree, but I love the ambiance of Lament, it almost feels like a Hammer horror movie, and I really like the story, simple as may be. The gameplay has some slight jank (I never get the Whip-double-jump-on-bars/beams to work right, IDK what I'm doing wrong), but it's really minor compared to the complete package. Fighting the giant Medusa head in 3D was kino.

The whole game felt unfinished, almost every room was huge and mostly empty. It did have some good ideas like stealing items from enemies. Just...Why God why did they not make that cool laser whip available in Trevor mode?

I liked Curse a lot but I hated how you can't 100% the game, there should have been a new game+ or something.

Or maybe you can but only by doing the bossrush over and over WHILE making sure you steal items from them AND don't die all the way through; but even then I'm pretty sure you'll be missing some items to make every weapon

Yes. It's been years since I tried the N64 games, so I won't comment on those since I remember very little beyond disliking them, but the PS2 games are, at best, passable but very bland. The level design is atrocious, the character models are abysmal, and the games do not otherwise stand out save for the music.

There are worse games out there, but if it weren't for the Castlevania name I doubt either of the PS2 games would be anymore remembered than something like Otogi (which is probably a better game).

I could never get into Lament Of Innocence back in the day, I struggled with the controls and then just gave up.
I do however dig the music in the game.
