Why? It had good voice acting, great music, good graphics for the time, a spooky snuff film VHS feel before making shit look like VHS was popular, and the kills were brutal and entertaining to watch.

Never played splinter cell but I thought the strafing buttons on the triggers were cool
And the peaking around corners is fun
The hand to hand combat is rough but I think it’s intentional to try and make people use the executions more
