I've heard mention of some romhacks for the classic Megaman games that integrate the quick weapon switching feature from the later entries in the series. Is there one to hotswap the armors in MM6? That would make the game substantially more replayable IMO.

Also looking to figure out how to unlock the E-reader shit from Mario Advance 4. Apparently the extra stages are neat, so I want to try them.

Post hacks/tweaks of retro games that make them better. Retranslations, QOL stuff, bugfixes, etc.

"QoL" is most of the time a euphemism for "cheat". Stop being a little baby bitch and play the actual game, faggot.

Sounds like the baby bitch in this situation is clear.

Back on topic, no one can find the Classic MM weapon switching hack? I was really excited to give it a try but searches are coming up empty

This has a save file with everything unlocked and completed 100%, of course, you don't need this if you want to complete it all yourself, but it does have a hacked slot for File 2 which allows you to play as Luigi only in one player mode if you prefer his physics.

No zoom zoom, you hate retro. If you didn't you would be playing retro games, not """remasters""" fucking with gameplay, adding saves so you don't need an ounce of skill, and making them look and feel like newer games. Kindly jump off a bridge, that'll be a good "QoL patch" for this board.

Damn, the crabs are angry tonight. They've resorted to schizo-tier insults and making shit up, I've never sensed such sheer fat gamer rage through one post alone.
Don't tell me you're *still* angry about the rulechange? And nobody could be autistic enough to camp out in a thread of anons happily discussing vidya for *hours on end*, could they? Surely no one is *that* pathetic, right?

Anyone ever played Mario Adventure? https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/70
I poked around in it for a minute, seemed like a pretty full-featured TC hack with new mechanics and shit. Is it worth playing through?

There are plenty of hacks which make MM games better. Lag reduction patches, bug fixes, etc

For MM3, there is "Improvement" which gets rid of all lag, fixes a lot of glitches, and also has some other additions/changes which you may or may not like
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/992/

For Rockman 4 (doesn't work with MM4), lag reduction patch, there are two patches, one "standard" lag reduction, and another one which also changes other things like being able to switch weapons on the fly (but also gets rid of the autoscroll sections...)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z02krkks30sogzh/Rock4Optimization_v3.zip?dl=1

For Rockman 5, but these ones also works with MM5. Lag reduction patch:
http://www.himaq5.xyz/rock5easily/archive/rock5_lite.zip
Lets you switch weapons on the fly (select, down+select, select+start):
http://www.himaq5.xyz/rock5easily/archive/rock5_weaponselect.zip

Rockman 6 (does not work with MM6):
Lag reduction patch but also speeds up the process of many things, like loading times, scrolling when entering a room, etc,
and also fixes sliding: In the original MM6, and unlike other MM games, you couldn't jump during a slide, plus there is a small delay, wait time, at the end of a slide. This fixes both:

Standalone version of the fixed sliding:
http://web.archive.org/web/20180919180421/http://www.geocities.jp/borokobo/zip/Rock6FixSlide2.zip

Small hacks for MM4-5-6 that makes the sound of charging the charge shot fade out:
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5072/
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5066/
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5067/

Check rock5easily and Puresabe's websites using google translate, you may find more hacks like these.

I like the editors that let you customize your own changes, like Mega Man X6's Tweaks and Final Fantasy IX's Hades Workshop.
