It has a Lunar Legends port too, and some FF tactics game.

It plays old gbc and gb games too. that's why this console is based. Metric fuckton of games. I can't even list them all so will just say Riviera. I'll be on my computer later to post the fav gba image again. Then gb and gbc list to add to it.

Tons of ff ports in general from snes. That one mario rpg tier game with luigi. Legacy of Goku games. Doom ports. Flight of the Falcon I liked though hard. A tomb raider. Sonic games. crash bandicoot, kingdom hearts. Pokemon of course. The Minish cap, cannot forget zelda games. But I won't bother to brainstorm beyond crystalis, oracle zeldas, grandia port for gbc, I'm just saying it's great. There was even a resident evil game for gbc, a quest rgp for color, but this is gba so oh well.
Golden sun one and two were favs. Aria of sorrow is best castlevania. Metroid fusion is great.

it's likely just that it's a popular 6th gen game, rather than any jab at the game itself
i wouldn't say they were bad looking games for the ps2, they just spent their resources in different ways
while individual models weren't the most detailed out there, it traded that off in exchange for a large draw distance, and a gigantic, seamlessly-loading (streamed) map
not many games had everything on one map where you could drive from one end to the other with no loading screens

Not too found of IPS screens myself but considering the lack and price of AGS-101 screens these days it's the only sensible solution it seems.

Are there no missing row or lines of pixels on the sides when doing it on GBA btw? I've seen youtube videos of people putting new screens in GBC and it was missing several vertical and horizontal lines of pixels on the left and bottom sides, probably hidden by the black part of the screen lense.

They are, all of them but the start/select buttons I think.
They all feel fine for the most part, except the d-pad itself. It feels a little bit sluggish and stiff to manipulate, if that makes sense. It's not a dealbreaker for me though, I kinda got used to it.

As for visual issues such as ghosting or screen tearing or what you mentioned, I haven't noticed any. There was some weird interlacing I spotted while playing Wario Land 4, but I'm 95% sure it was just part of the game, as I haven't noticed it at all for Metroid.

By the way, is there a reason why you are not particularly fond of IPS screens? just curious

I don't use the portables outdoor much so if I'm going to play on a screen like that, I might as well emulate.

As for the d pad, you can easily swap it for an og one if you want, you just need the right screwdriver and the process is extremely simple. If you don't have an OG one lying around to swap with, even a used one should be better than third party ones.

Just bought and started playing Koro Koro Puzzle Happy Panechu. Like Kirby's Tilt 'n' Tumble, the viewing angles on the AGS-001 really don't cut it, but unlike KTnT you can at least swap the direction of the sensor. That's the thing, the attach rates on the Wii were god awful, because it was a Wii Sports machine. Shake It itself is also a step back in many ways besides the unnecessary wagglan.

Anyway, I blame Sakurai for the Ware vs Land dichotomy, as the Ware series was just a fun spinoff until Smash Wario came along and ruined the character forever, so now Ware is wrongly blamed for Sakurai's misdeeds. Obviously Warefags have gotten fed up with Landfags blaming them for enjoying a pretty great series, until it also died thanks to Rhythm Tengoku and a steady decline in quality.

There's a flash cart that claims to support it but it's a broad spectrum light sensor so it's not the same.

I beat Zoku in the Canadian winter when I could barely get 1 or 2 bars of sunlight out of 10 while freezing my fingers off. In summer even when it's cloudy I can still pick up some UV light as long as I'm outside. Actually the first game apparantly does have a translation, i've just not gotten to it yet, but it looks like there hasn't even been an attempt to translate 2. Game boy and game boy advance are tight as fuck. I feel like it's the only system besides the neo geo and the genesis where every game has a feel to it that says, "this is a game boy game." Every game on it had to have a super intentional design, meaning you got games that focused on pure gameplay while cutting out as much bullshit as possible. The graphics and sound take a nasty hit, but they have some fun perks. The minigames are fun, the KONG letters are factored into completion rating now, and you can save any time instead of needing to find the designated save character on the map. This translates to: "I got filtered and I'm super butthurt about it". Once you understand how to play it is easily one of the best SRPGs on the system. It isn't like other games where you can just grind and spam your most powerful spells to win, it requires actual thought from the player, which seriously infuriated the mindless jarpig fans.

Because it’s based on the Doom engine. Therefore the original speed, momentum, scale, and weapon behavior are all preserved. Doom 2 GBA may be more feature complete, but the whole game has a much different gameplay feel due to the use of a custom engine.

I don't know what it is, maybe nostalgia, but the gba just feels so right. A quality enough library. Game files are just a few megs and often provide tens of hours of entertainment. A bit more refined than previous generations, so better quality of life features and an adaption to the system and portable nature.

I never played wing commander before and the graphics of this gba version are practically psx/n64 tier. Neat.

Though on medium I'm getting assraped at the start. Also the music is like nails on chalkboards, many at once. Might be the worst shit I've ever heard.

Still looks cool though. Flight of The Falcon is kind of pretty tier too but doesn't have that cool intro the wing has, and both are hard tier but at least you die slower in the falcon game.

The signal to noise is pretty bad. Honestly, as much as I love the GBA, there are not very many good games for it. Particularly if you exclude remakes.
