I know Lets Plays are overdone on Youtube, but I'm thinking of opening a channel for hidden gems and blind plays of random games I have in my rom archive, sort of like the /vr/ gauntlet, and I have a habit of talking to myself anyway.

I need a good program for me to record a section of the screen, play the game audio low and me narrating along with it, most programs I've found only let me do one or the other or want me to upgrade and pay ridiculous amounts of money, I don't want to risk going to some shady site and getting a suspicious keygen file. Anything I can use for free?

Thanks /vr/

You must be new here.

Anyway, maybe you could streaming yourself with livestream and then saving the recordings

Blind plays are the worst thing ever unless it's a really short game.

No one will watch your shit idiot, go fuck yourself.

This place has been here for about 2 months and it was just fine before the amount of posters shot up. Acting like a dick shouldn't be accepted here.

OP doing a Let's Play would be like adding more cooks to an already spoiled pot. None of them are good.

Take an English class.

Counter sage.

I respect what you're doing, kid. At least you could do obscure games and then make sure there is footage of them around.

I made one mistake in that sentence about livestream. You are being pretentious by not realizing that.
By "here" I meant 4chan, as well as the internet as a whole.
A "Let's Play" is too generic a concept to be overdone.
You do not appear tough, you just appear not to understand

I know English isn't your first language because nobody talks like this. You don't have a grasp of what these words actually mean. Nobody talks like this.

do you read your own posts

Like I said, I get some people aren't into it but I'm really doing it for some experience talking and for my own self confidence in general. I don't really care if I get Game Grumps numbers or even break the hundreds for each video.

It is obvious at this point that you are not being serious. I should take the blame for not catching on earlier just what an inferior vermin you really are. I will not respond to your posts any longer. I hope you change your ways, if only you do it for your own happiness.

As to be the only person to answer your question, Open Broadcasting Software (OBS) will do what you require. If you have issues with mic, there's a couple options out there.

All told, this isn't really /vr/ material. Might be better for /diy/ or /g/. Still, good luck.

Let's hope you're not trying to make any money off of this. Sony, Nintendo, Sega...they're all complaining to YouTube about getting all the ad revenue from the LPs out there.

Game Grumps are about to be out of a job.

Lots of emulators come with the ability to record, Just record the video and use a free audio recording software and sync the audio to the video after.

CamStudio is free (and accepts donations)

I've tested it out, and it's cool, but I'll stick with my convoluted actual console through my VCR, into a shitty capture card, recording with same shitty capture card's shitty software, then re-encoding from bare-ass uncompressed MPEG to two-pass Xvid.

You can also use LiveStream's Procaster software to do full or partial screen capture.
