I fucking wish.
The atmosphere in this game is unique, and would be highly regarded as another great re-telling of the Simon epic, along with IV and X68K, but instead it's a rather poorly designed game with really wholesome presentation and of course, a masterful music work.
I hate it's this way because I want to like it. At least I can listen to the OST.

It's definitely a game worth playing just for the audiovisual spectacle. Kinda like Shadow of the Beast - being frank, Haunted Castle is a better game than SotB, although not as good as the real good Castlevania games.

Haunted Castle was a rushed game, as the director admited in an interview. I believe they were working in some other games at the same time one of them being Hot Chase, another underdeveloped great concept.

I still love Haunted Castle, though. I played it in the late 80s without even knowing what Castlevania was and it looked awesome back in the day. It was really a cool scary game even if imperfect.

Of course it is. The challenge, the use of sub items unlike SC4, not some fag game like ROndo where you can push through two thirds of the game with no hassle.

Closest to OG castlevania on the nes but with SNES power. Tough but fair. Not like Castlevania 3 where you explouit he game with some dopey bitch, I promise none of you have ever beaten that game with a Belmont wihip, every one of you cheesed it.

Dracula X has better use of level structure for combat, Rondo is like playing Symphony without the RPG mechanics.

Last boss is one of the hardest in the series but doable, unlike Belmonts revenge.

You can fick him up and lose, from the get go, its not a case of complete memorisation.

When recording these videos I have actually attempting a no dmg run, tried with both routes.

Best I did was getting hit twice throughout the entire game, on the good ending route.
