Fighter's Destiny series on N64 was really overlooked. Unique fighting system and some amazing animation and visuals for the day. Had it come out on PS1 it'd be a classic.

Points system. A lot of similarities to Virtua Fighter (made by former VF devs) and Tekken, but uses a point based system.
>Matches being decided by score instead of KO, with throws knockdowns ring-outs counters all having different point values
>Holding a button enters a mode where you automatically dodge all attacks but become super vulnerable to throws
>Dual stage throw escapes: big easy window for escaping, harder riskier window for reversing. You could also SEE the throw escape window which is something you'd think every game would have copied.

Sequel runs at real steady 60 fps without interpolation. Also the environments, models and smooth animation are particularly great.

Flying Dragon has some really stupid design choices like locking supers, unlocking bokujin (requirement for the final boss) is a random occurrence, most consumable items besides healing water are pretty useless, the treasure items aren't as interesting as they seemed as a child.
Sd Hiryuu no Ken is a major improvement and one of my favorite games ever

I FUCKING hate fighting game AI. It's such bullshit. Every single fucking game is so cheap. You press a button the AI just instantly reacts with the perfect counter. Can't they make ai that doesn't just read your inputs? Fighting games are the best multiplayer games and the absolute worst single player games.

They're probably angry about the fact that, despite N64 having a smaller library, people talk more about N64 games compared to PS games. Or at least the discussion is pretty even. In their minds, they can't comprehend that a system that sold much less and has so much less titles is basically on par (if not more) in terms of popularity.
As someone who isn't a big fan of 5th gen in general, I can say that you can be cruel about any of the 3 system's graphics, if you want to, but all 3 systems got some really good games. I just think the notion of PS being "the winner" and having a seemingly unlimited library damaged the Sony fan's perception, because on one hand they think that they are immune to criticism due to PS being the "winner" of the generation, so there's a sort of short circuit going on in their heads when that narratives isn't reflected in reality (people actually having as much love for the N64 as for the PS)
