So I just started Oracle of Seasons for the first time. (Up to the 4th dungeon) Never picked them up at the time despite loving the shit out of LA and LA:DX. Having fun so far, if a little frustrated at a couple of things, mostly not realising you could push pots/trampolines. It's so nice to not have handholding shoved down my throat though, so I don't care.

Just wondering if you guys have a preferred order of play? I've heard Ages has a better story and you can get equipment that makes the battles easier in the fighting heavier Seasons, but also that there's an area in Ages you can't get to unless you've played Seasons. Also totally curious about all the order specific cutscenes and stuff if that's all true?

How much of this is true/bullshit? Also, Oracles General I guess? What were your favourite moments?

Hope you also have/will play through Ages and can link them both to access the special ending. While they both have a very basic similar premise, they just feel like completely different and really fun games. My boyfriend and I played them together to be able to link ours at the end.

Seasons is by far much better to play.

>better story
>better music
>more interesting characters

Not that Ages is bad either, but I don't know, I just like Seasons a lot better.

oh, and fuck the Maku tree.

Yeah I'm totally going to get Ages, I couldn't wait any longer, as soon as my Seasons arrived I had to start, I was just curious if I was going to have to play Seasons>Ages and then Ages>Seasons just to get the "full" experience. I've heard that's a thing people do.

yeah, I played through Seasons first, then Ages and I got the secret ending.

I think you can play the games in any order you like though.

I like playing Ages>Seasons>hero password to play Seasons again>Ages

You'll get some really neat rings (one that keeps you from slipping on ice and another that boosts your attack to the max at the cost of a defense drop) before you have to fight the final battles for the first time.

It really doesn't matter though; as long as you play through through the secrets game on both games and link the playthroughs with a hero password you'll be fine.

whichever one you play first is the one you'll prefer
that's just how it goes

Playing Seasons after playing Ages. There's a scene where Queen Ambi visits Captain Stalfos, revealing him to be her missing seafarer lover.
