Love dis game. Got it for my dad's birthday in 1998 because the Target demo had the "decal creator" mode painting a Raichu on the top of a car and I thought it looked cool.

Is world driving championship good? Nothing seems to be able to emulate it, guess I could pick up a cart for cheap

Of that list, diddy kong racing for me.

Wave Race. If it only had like 3 more tracks it would be gooooooat.

You can beat it in like 25 minutes. If some sort of track creator happened god damn.

My top 3:

Cruis’n World
Beetle Adventure Racing
Diddy Kong Racing

Is Top Gear Rally fun? I played some other N64 racers but I’ve definitely missed a few.

I thought top gear rally was awful but overdrive is fun. How much better is world compared to usa?

>> No.6725441

>>6725429
it takes a while to get used to the controls and physics but the track design is pretty good (even if there's only 5 tracks they're all pretty fun and the weather system makes them slightly different in regards to how you race) and I like the overall presentation of the game.

On the N64, World is a much better port than USA. It is a really good conversion of the arcade game with tones of extras. They even added a new track that wasn’t in the arcade version. I really enjoy the Cruis’n series, and I would say out of the 3, World is the one to play on N64.

But when it comes to the arcade versions, I prefer USA any day (I have the dedicated arcade game with the World board to swap in). The N64 port of USA sucked so bad I had to buy the real thing :)

I like the arcade version of USA more because I like the simplicity of it. The flips, barrel roll trick system in the future games is “cool” but a little gimmicky. I prefer the art style and tracks of the original the best.

Exotica was a poor port to the N64 as well. They managed to fuck up the controls. Everything felt too floaty and you can spam flips off of oncoming cars which make the trick system a joke. You only had a chance to successfully perform off a flip in World, but in the port of exotica it works every time.

I have MRC racing. Is Top Gear rally better? I didn’t find MRC to be that great.

What are your feelings about overdrive? Never played that one either.

MRC is really average, Rally is great once you get used to the driving and physics, never played Overdrive, but I've heard it's pretty rad.

Another vote fir Diddy's. Probably the game that got me into racing games. I like rally - types. Is top gear any good for an off-road aficionado?

I play Cruisin Usa over and over, its pretty much outrun. The sequals seemed gimicky to me and the races lasted way too long. I find it impossible to play this game a not have fun.
