Thank you, /vr/, for showing this to me. What a beautiful journey that was!

Lighthearted and absolutely charming generic fantasy adventure is just what I needed.
No character choosing, no complicated builds, only basic equip and items. Not even status-effect spamming!
And it even played itself! The only time my attention was necessary is for final battle.

There was a port of PSX translation to Saturn version, and if you have at least 200 /a/ titles under your hood you will understand all dialogue and FMV in this game. Voiced lines and FMV don't have subtitles.

That one I heard good things about. That's why I never played it to this day.
And it's also an RPG with ported translation from PSX. I guess, my Saturn is porting machine (even tho those games actually were first out on Saturn).

Well, maybe yes, but didn't really bother me.
I could see plenty of silly cliche japanese humor and that was enough.
It's still a story from japanese writers, no amount of american references can spoil it.

Difficulty is the same as the Japanese instead of the bullshit they added in the American ps1

Apparently.
Outside of Atk-buff on first turn I never needed to take control in boss-fights, and trash-battles were easily winnable with 0 mp and just auto-attacks.

i think the ps1 version had an increase in difficulty for the bosses. they would scale to your level. did the saturn do this?

It was the only hard fight in entire game.
I hope you have many items left for this fight, especially mp5. I needed 2 max mp5 items for Jessy for entire fight.
There's no status-effects, so no immun-trinkets.
Max out Magic Def on all characters through trinkets, Nash and Mia don't take much damage in the first place, so you can priories others.
Move everyone except Jess to the corners, because she can't stop healing.
Don't drop anyone below 200hp, if below 100 then waste a turn on defense.
Have Mia to buff Atk to Alex and Kyle.
Don't buff Def, it's for physical anyway.
I was lvl52 or lvl53.
