I struggle with java but I'm somewhat competent with C. I guess I just like being "on the metal" and knowing exactly what's going on, even if that means having to manage things manually.
I wish I would have started with C because programming makes much more sense when you realize that you're just moving bytes around.

I've never tried assembly yet. I guess what I'm saying is don't give up over java.
