any game in the 90s that had at least two in the series had a Battle Chest or anthology pack of some sort, every Blizzard game, the first 3 or 7 Tomb Raiders, the first three Quakes, the Unreals, The original Doom games released on PC prior to 3. They also usually came with a strategy guide in .02pt font because they had to be small and sometimes a poster or collectible.

damn, I remember having to get an A on the spelling test to get that Star Craft Battle Chest 20 years ago, and isn't that thing you're talking about a cardboard cutout that was at Circuit City?

Circuit City, Fry's, Best Buy, CompUSA, Software Etc., etc. all had those displays. Like a section, with the latest releases, hottest sellers, or some great staples like Infinity Engine games or these Blizzard packs for a discount. The endcaps would have Star Wars games or big name FPS titles. I remember the software section would be a couple aisles, and the display at the front would just draw you in. I take it that you got the A and enjoyed a lot of real time strategy.

The only thing this was missing was the Doom poster or a little collectible like other battle chests.
