If you want to make a 3 heart run even spicier, avoid any unnecessary items. No bottles outside of the mandatory one, no Biggoron sword, no Nayru's Love, no double defense hearts, etc. Or you can pick and choose different things to allow yourself. If you wanna be really hardcore, you can even skip getting the Goron/Zora tunics and the Lens of Truth.
