Remake has stupid annoying voice overs and very annoying 3d platforming jumping. At least the Ducktales remake kept everything 2D.

Like I said, the Ducktales remake is good except for the overlong dialogue cutscenes.

I agree, the original is the better game. The remake is a nice sort of revisiting of the first game and I'm happy it exists, it was nice to play, but it certainly isn't an upgrade or replacement. There is a genuine scariness to this game, somehow, despite it featuring Mickey Mouse. This level freaked me out as a kid (2min into the video) : https://youtu.be/cKW2nPR25cs?t=116

For some reason I always liked more the master system version.

Theres a Castle of Illusion remake?

As much as I like Wayforward, I have felt no desire to play their Ducktales remake. They should have just made a third Ducktales game.

Yes. Casstle of Illusion reminds me a bit of the earlier Disney shorts, which had plenty of scary sequences. The ruins level was also unsettling because you felt alone there and the music sounded very mysterious and menacing.

Always skipped this to play World of Illusion or Quackshot instead.

It's a nice game but it's very very tonally different to the first game, it's really a whole new game. Much more whimsical. Compare the remake's ruins level to the scarier one posted earlier in the thread : https://youtu.be/BcCqeIFr-5M

I prefer the first game's darker atmosphere but I don't think it's wrong to prefer the remake's whimsy.
