I think his games were a bit janky but regardless of the quality of his future work I will not be buying it because I don't want my money going towards people with his politics. This doesn't have an impact on my evaluation of his art, only on whether or not I think it should be funded by me personally. I hope my decision not to give him money because of my views is as respected as his right to have his opinion on same-sex marriage and trans people.

It's not that I dislike all political talk. It's that I don't want to fund Doug's bank account specifically with my money because I know he's a bigot who is using his public platform to hurt others. There is nothing hypocritical about it. He has the right to express his opinion. I'm not comfortable giving him money because of his views the same way he has the right not to give homosexuals and transgender people his money because of his views. Hypocrisy would be if I said I don't want to give him my money but he has an obligation to fund people against his views.

Checked his youtube stuff a bit where he talked about how he made EWJ and Neverhood, it had a lot of interesting tidbits. I liked the part where he went from literal newcomer to 500k/year superstar in like, two years, and the only reason that mattered to him was because it made his own father proud.
He sometimes rants about his christianity thing but all the arguments I heard from him so far boil down to BE A GOOD PERSON. When he rants about SJWs it isn't because they want to allow gay marriage, it's because SJWs are a cult; the point being that he justifies his reasoning with proper logic and experience, not internet bullshit. In fact he sounds like a pretty enlightened and realistic guy who actually has experience in real life, not someone who is stuck in his bible bubble.
