Well, this project turned out to be a really effective solution for storing old GameBoy games that lack boxes.

How does /vr/ store their cartridges? Have you ever made your own custom cases for storage?

I store my GB collection in a box that had sets of tea bags.

Got the idea from someone on here.

Whatever works! I've been storing mine in an old shoebox until I tried out re-purposing a PS3 case like that. Only downside is I have to cut the hinge off those old plastic cartridge cases.

>>666385
Nice! I was in that thread too, and was going to do that until I found out there's no space for manuals, which is how I came up with my method. That's awesome for when you don't have the manuals, though.

>> No.666415

I just keep them in my GBA case. Only my few GBC games throw the system. I don't have the space to keep giant boxes.

How much did this cost?
And how?

Yep, B.C Kid. There are some level design differences from the final version, so it leads me to believe its a late prototype.

Nice! Definitely hang on to that one.

I got the cases for about 20 cents each at goodwill, I have since got ones that don't have the plastic pins so they look much better and you don't have to modify them.

My printer sucks, so i will have to find a better way of printing the covers.

3x3 card sleeves, while it's not the most elegant solution it actually works really well.

I saw someone post this, but i have never been able to find the plastic sleeves.

Yeah, I'm currently in that predicament as well. I've read Staples is a good place to go for printing, I'll have to try that.

20 cents each can't really be beat. I got spare PS3 cases by buying old sports games from GameStop for $0.99 each.

Has anyone here done the DS case modification method? It seems a bit... destructive to me.

forgive me for sounding stupid, but what is that case originally for?

ah, well that explains why i didn't realize, i don't own a ps3. neither does anyone i know.

It's a PS3 case.

Where are you living? In my area they've surpassed 360s in popularity.

OK, it's a PS3 case, but how did you get the game to stay in there?

See that bit around the outside of the game? That's part of the original GB game cases. You know, the clear ones. My guess is that OP super glued it to the case.

Cut out the spindle (just used scissors, the plastic is really thin) and glued one of these in its place. I can post pics of the process if you want.

Red is where I applied the glue.

I am curious, but I don't think I'd ever do it.
Those clear Game Boy cases are hard to find around here.

>> No.666949

>>666943
They're hard to find around here too, I'm not sure how many more of these I'll do just because of that. Though you're trading a cartridge case for a larger case that can hold a manual and a custom cover, so I suppose it's not much of a loss.

>> No.667027

>>666949
couldn't you somehow make a mold of it and use that to make more? Not sure what type of materials you'd use, but it seems like you really only need the simple part of it.

>> No.667058

I could if I knew how to make molds. I may look into that, thanks for the idea.

That was so bad that I'm embarrassed for you.

You're just a constant source of embarrassment for the rest of us, Anon.

I needed to tell at least one bad joke this week, anyway, is there a way to get NDS game cases for my GBA games?
