Gigaleak stuff that I've processed and put together to make it easier for people to look through and use

Main:
- Converted from CVS to git; complete with branches, tags, authors, history, and commit messages. This is done for each "module". No need to use crappy old software or "check" anything out. ez

- Generated info for both the git and CVS versions. This includes file lists and extracted metadata (excludes .git, .svn, CVSROOT folders). The relevant info is included in each archive, but I also made them available separately.

* directory_tree.txt is a graphical representation of a directory and its contents

* file_tree.csv and file_tree.json are lists of all the files in a directory including their size, date modified, md5, and sha256; JSON is more human-readable but CSV is good for importing into something like excel.

* metadata.json scrapes the metadata for each file, depending on the file this can include things like the names of every person who modified it and the date, the name of their computer, what directory that file was in when it was modified, what character encoding it uses, what architecture it was compiled for and its endianness, etc...

* .sfv files are just checksums

>> No.6653674

>>6653671
Extra:
- Created PDFs and images from schematics, PCB designs, gerbers, and dxf files for easy viewing. Made some 3D PDFs for PCBs (not all PDF viewers support these). Updated Eagle files to newer versions. Put everything in an archive with the rest of the PCB/Schematic related files

- An archive that only has all of the documentation related files (.doc, .pdf, etc..)

- Extracted all the archives (.zip, .tar, .rar, etc files) that are contained within the main archives. Put them in their own archive

Extra Links:
- pcb.tar.7z: gofile_io/d/4BzHBv
- docs.7z: gofile_io/d/lorLKI
- archives.7z: gofile_io/d/t4cAj2
- git_info.tar.7z: anonymousfiles_io/5lBLhWIJ/
- original_info.tar.7z: anonymousfiles_io/e94v8sl2/

Notes:
- Expect some Japanese text encoding issues with file names and git commit messages
- Having Japanese language support on your OS may help
- Using WinRAR you can set the text encoding when you extract the archive to preserve it
- Files will work better on a case sensitive file system if on Windows you can make case sensitive folders using WSL 2
- git repos should ignore permissions changes
- Metadata for the following folder has been excluded; netcard/gba/depot-offline/sw/gvm/external (Linux packages)
- Metadata for some directories have been chunked to make smaller file sizes
- Extras retain the folder structure of the originals for easy comparison

Previous:
unsorted.7z
- Converted from CVS to git
- Converted documentation that was made with Adobe FrameMaker to PDF
- Decrypted Verilog files
- Decrypted PDFs
- Generated file lists and extracted metadata
- Generated PDFs of schematic and PCB designs

BroadOn Project SC - GBA Secure Cartridge

The Secure Cartridge (SC) is a backward-compatible replacement for existing ROM-based GBA cartridges which provides strong content protection and secure network connectivity.
In conjunction with an online infrastructure, the SC enables secure networked game play and secure network-based content distribution.

The SC consists of a custom controller chip, flash memory, DRAM, and a USB interface.
The heart of the SC is a custom controller chip which connects to the Game Pak Bus and emulates the functionality of existing cartridges.
Internally the controller contains a unique ID and various keys that specify per-cartridge permissions and capabilities.
In addition, there is a Secure CPU (SCPU) for executing security-critical code located in on-chip RAM; the user cannot access the contents of the on-chip RAM.
Downloaded games are stored in flash memory (in encrypted form), along with any saved game state information.
Any code needing to be accessed by the GBA’s main CPU is stored in DRAM, and network connectivity is achieved by connecting the SC to a PC via the USB interface.

Docanon here. It's only one guy. There have been up to 50 people viewing the doc at once and that one dude still just wants to be as autistic as humanly possible. I undid the damages, which is fairly easy on my end and, even if it wasn't, I back up the doc regularly for a reason. It should be noted that this guy fucked with the text style 127 times in a row, so it's pretty clear this guy is retarded. Thankfully, due to the work of literally everyone else, the doc should be in finished enough of a state by today to turn off suggestions and just have people contribute by emailing me shit or a seperate suggestions doc.(I like this second idea quite a bit.)

Still, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but he realistically won't get another chance to be a cunt.

Maybe initially the name was Fay O'Donnel? Then the name got moved to Wolf? Wolf doesn't have a surname in beta as far as I know. But hey...

So most of the files used CVS to keep track of file revision history (all those files that end in ,v). Nobody uses CVS anymore and it's annoying to deal with. What I did was get rid of CVS and replaced it with git, which is the most popular version control system (think GitHub).

This way all the files are usable without needing to "check" them out. You can download them and start looking through stuff. It also preserves all the revision history so you can easily look at how files changed over time and whatever notes people left when they made their changes.

These basically should replace all the "no-cvs" versions that are floating around.

Stealing code basically was more 'normie friendly'. Copying algorithms? That's more likely.

What we have in SF2 code is a janky as fuck 6502 Assembler with communication to the MARIO chip (SuperFX2).

I don't think in any way it was close to MIPS assembler (Which in on itself is very different). I think the real salt lies in the fact that Argonaut made the SNES SuperFX chips and they weren't contacted to do more stuff after SNES (SGI instead took that spot).

No offense to David Cuthbert but as much as I can appreciate him as a programmer, I think he comes off as a bit of immature egomaniac.

Either way - Starfox 2 either way is a technological achievement in on itself that is rarely talked about cause no one knew - the PATH system relies on a script system written in assembly language which to me looks like a crazy man's dream. A lot of effort was put into making those 3D environments more real than SF1 and that's also to be appreciative.

I dunno - I think SF2 would deserve a proper remaster more in the style of CES demo and this leak is perhaps the best way of achieving some renewed interest in Starfox as a whole.

Because it's literally an alternate sequence of events, like how that Super Metroid comic had lots of things that don't fit in continuity such as Ridley surviving despite having a few characters that were later reimagined for the prequel manga. No one seriously suggests that the Super Metroid game and comic are the same continuity, and if the devs wanted to put Fara in Star Fox 2 they clearly could have but opted to distance themselves from the comic in the end.

There's been a few people who have said they've found uncompiled CES builds of Star Fox 1 (the intro text is replaced with "CES Version")... - one timed like the "challenge" edition and one that is similar to final. It doesn't sound like there's anything strikingly noteworthy in them but I know the game off the back of my hand so I'd be able to tell if there's any differences in level design.

Would be nice to see Star Fox 1 get some love, even the Star Glider prototype hasn't seen much attention and I think the fact that the prototype exists in such an early state is incredible to me.

Although the recent SF2 betas are incredible too (I hear there might be uncompiled versions lurking around too! But can't be sure of that hehe)

Apparently this is implying that the final boss might not be Andross himself but instead seems to be a supercomputer in command of his army? The phrasing in the last sentence looks a little inconclusive about it. That's probably where the Melee trophy claiming that "it's safe to assume that it's not the fiend's true form" came from. Or it could be Itoh injecting some of his comic lore into the guide. Either way, this seems to be ignored practically everywhere else, including Star Fox 2. Wonder if Dylan Cuthbert would confirm if canon.

I remember hearing about that. The "cube Andross" is actually some some device he uses to control things from afar. Star Fox 64 retcons it so that the giant floating head is actually him (on the paths where it's not a robot at least).

It seems to me that they don't wanna put the effort into thinking of a plot that doesn't involve Andross, probably because of the whole Japanese dogs vs. monkeys dichotomy, so instead they retell the first game over and over. The few titles that tried to move beyond the basic Lylat Wars plot weren't developed by Nintendo.

Nintendo first wanted to add a ton of features/content with Ura on the 64. Part of the team didn't want to do that, so that's where Majora came from. Another part of the team worked on the dungeons that would eventually become Master Quest, as well as come stuff that would be used as assets for Majora like the Swamp Spider House and the well ReDead mini dungeon. The remainder of the team was set on working on Ura with Miyamoto as a much smaller force than originally. We don't know what they had planned that got shelved though, so that's where all the mystery with Ura lies.

SO. I'm trying to create a repo of all the models in bbgames as .PLY files. But the python script for converting them from .SOU is giving me issues.
When I run it like this:
"SOUtoPLY22.py mario_near_head.sou"

It ends up giving me this:
"File '<stdin>,' line 1
SOUtoPLY22.py mario_near_head.sou
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax"

What am I doing wrong here? When I just run:
"SOUtoPLY22.py" it gives me:
"File '<stdin>', line 1, in '<module>'
NameError: name 'SOUtoPLY22' not defined," so that might be part of it.

Honestly makes sense to me as far timelines go. OOT came out in Nov 98, 64DD came out in DEC 1999 a year later. Thats a year for development with a small team on unfinalized hardware on split teams.. Majoras Mask came out in April 2000. They were probably pushing development of Ura Zelda to a release/ beta state to bolster 64DD sales for the 2000 holiday season but gave up due to piss poor sales. Deciding even if they showcased URA Zelda at Spaceworld/E3 it wouldn't save it. Thinking maybe they would later release it on GC but decided fuck it not worth it. Master Quest is good enough. Man, why you guys gotta make weird assumptions like that? What’s more likely, that YI originally had some weird human looking thing swimming around as an enemy, or that some bored artist took Lunge Fish and redrew him as one of his bosses (probably Takashi Tezuka given the glasses and skin spots)? All this guy did was insert the graphics over lunge fish, and if he was always meant to be a dev’s gag version of LF, of course it will work. In that interview, Miyamoto says

>Who knows, maybe the designer who drew the overalls on the earlier guy intended that it be changed to Mario all along!

This seems to imply that it was just a jumpsuit at first, then overalls were added? It's hard to tell, but I'm not seeing overalls on this dude:

Given Pilotwings was an early SNES title spun off of one of the earliest SNES prototypes, Dragonfly, and Super Mario Kart was brought about because they wanted to make a 2-player F-Zero, I doubt it. What does seem plausible is Nintendo using Pilotwings as a starting point for Mario Kart given they both heavily implement Mode 7.
