I pulled off a few difficult sequence breaking techniques in Super Metroid and Link to the Past. As a kid, I always felt like I could bomb jump infinitely in SM somehow, and it was vindicating to learn that someone figured out the rhythm. Ironically, it’s the same for LTTP, with bomb gap jumping (though that particular trick is easy).

I beat BattleToads on my first try without dying. I also beat Ghosts n Goblins with my eyes closed. I found all three warp whistles by myself my first time playing. I didn't use a guide or anything. I beat Spy Hunter on my first try. It was easy.

Most people don't believe me but I found the easter egg in Megaman X legit without any outside help. My logic was that filling E-tanks was much harder than getting extra lives. It just so happen to be the best place to farm extra health for the E-tanks.

I think that is part of his appeal. Sometimes I even think he fakes it.
He is semi bad at games but super bad at understanding them. Like that Wizard of Oz playthrough, where he takes ages to figure out that he can replay stages. Or in that later castle level where he takes ages to figure out where to go... holy shit, he either has bad eyesight, or doesn't understand what he is looking at. Maybe it's his screen, too small or too big or something...
Also SC2 sucks and broodwar is much better.

My greatest retro gaming achievement? It's making retro games myself.
And in progress... maybe beating Donkey Kong Country. Or beating super ghost n ghouls multiple times in a row.
