There was no reason to show his ex-gf to his audience back then. Now everybody knows he's been dumped since she never appeared again. Joe also used to place her on the credits of the videos.
James, on the other hand, never showed his wife on camera, and people only started knowing about her when James announced that they were expecting a baby.
James is a master of avoiding drama, even when the whole "white sausage fest" incident happened, James never addressed it or gave the memers any identity, and the cuck memes slowed down once the Ghostbuster No Review video popped up, earning the title of "the only man who uncucked himself" (when James was never a cuck in the first place, if anything, his wife is more likely to get cheated on since James has a ton of female fangirls he meets at cons and stuff).
Joe doesn't have any actual female fans (and understandably so, what kind of girl would like a literal neanderthal?), and the only girl that ever gave him any attention obviously left him after all his autism of wanting to make a living out of doing derivative video game videos that probably don't even make enough money for him to live off of.
Game Sack..... was a mistake.
In an ideal world, Dave would be part of the Cinemassacre crew, and Mike would be along with Joe in Gam Suck, doing actual console war videos, fist fighting each other every time each of them insult each other's childhood

I know, and also because of his wife saying cinemassacre was a "white sausage fest" (jokingly, but still).
Anyway, the way I see it, the reason he "let" a nigger get the girl in the movie is because The Nerd (the character) would probably never be interested in girls, it'd be off character. That's why there was a scene in the movie where there were sounds as if they were having sex, but they were actually playing some Power Pad game.
As for the black guy, apart from obvious pandering, which is pretty lame, I think the real reason behind it is because James wanted the nerd to have a black sidekick for the movie, ala Lethal Weapon. He loves all these sort of cliché stuff so of course he'd include that kinda stuff in the movie. Not defending him, the movie was really not that good (although still respect him for all the practical effects he used).
But yeah, as the other anon said, James is smart when it comes to controversies. He just never addresses them again and lets the drama wane off. His wife stepping in and making that stupid blog post didn't do any good for the Cinamassacre brand, so what was James' answer? Nothing, he just never let April appear again. She's too busy taking care of his kids anyway.
