I'm sure you've used invulnerability sphere on previous level and didn't go to Tower of Babel with it. Funny enough, but 4/5 times I've ever beaten him I was invulnerable during this battle. And the same shit with Spider Mastermind!
Dodges are random thing, just don't forget to toggle run and run sideways, seems like it increases your chances to dodge successfully.
Builds? Dunno, never thought about them. I just picked random stuff that looked fitting and useful to weapons I used back then. They usually were shotguns

Trying to fix up Killing Time for the torrent, can anyone think of any quick fixes for pic related? I feel like it would be a really good game if this were to be fixed. A large problem may be that the game was not meant to be played on a Windows 7 computer, and DOSBox cannot run it because it gives off the error (This program cannot be run in DOS). I would mess with resolution and graphics settings for the game, if any such options were available!

Also, perhaps s/he did not see the post before, so I shall retry. Requesting a progress update on your side of the torrent. If I receive no response by the time I finish Wave 3, I will continue alone.

No idea what that is and google links me to a heavy metal band, but the way i fix those colors in all my retro games is right-click on desktop, click on Screen Resolution and a new window pops up. Leave it open and go back in the game.

LazyAnon here (the one that's supposed to be putting together Waves1+2), can confirm that renaming the Intro movie does work as well as the fix listed here for solving "rainbow colors" though it does involve some registry editing.

You can carry your gun finely, you just can't shoot it without alerting somebody. Exceptions being the crossbow's poison bolts, and the punch dagger is considered stealthy too. It's also augmented whenever your max health increases.

I just tested this, and the first thing I did was go to the Hell on Earth episode.

Heh, gonna have to play around with it again. It's positively silly by today's standards, but I remember loving it & the original back when I was younger.

I've got all the files right here. Note that they work better under PrBoom, as Zdoom occasionally disagrees with the dehacked stuff. Furthermore, at least in the 2nd game, Zdoom doesn't put a health cap on stims/medkits like PrBoom does. (PrBoom strictly keeps the cap at 100 health when using medkits/stims, whereas Zdoom will allow you to get up to 666 health with any health item) Also, there are apparently "fixed" files for both of these mods, though I have no idea what they actually change. Use 'em if you want; at the very least, I played the first level of both mods without them and didn't have any issues.


Run D2XTREME.wad with D2x.deh, and D2XGOLD.wad with D2XGOLD.deh. Try the other files out with their respective mods at your will.

And, uh, enjoy some EXTREME Doom.

Just ran D2XGold with Boom in DosBox. Turns out, you can get +100 health with medkits/stimpacks in Boom, so the outlier might actually be PrBoom. sadly i didn't find really interesting stuff, but here's a few ideas:

the sceptre could be used to throw fireballs (let's say 10 charges for a normal one and 25 for an explosive one using the alt. fire) and regaining charges by itself slowly

the demonicdagger would gain charges as you use it to finish enemies, or drain some life from you (ignores your armor, does not trigger enemy detection)

the unholy bible could be used to summon enemies to fight for you, using a "blood tribute" (switch pages/summons with alt. fire, uses health and/or demonic dagger charges)

the probjectile could be used to stun enemies for a small amount of time

and finally, the demon claw would remplace the berserker punch and (as intended) drain some life from the enemies (could also give you a more demon-y player sprite when you are in berserker mode)

example: i have done plutonia 32 in both vanilla and brutal doom. in vanilla you can run around the five cyberdemons which appear outside when the yellow key is taken, and dodge them and BFG them up close. in BD i had to resort to shooting them from long range from the room upstairs by your start position, with the plasma gun. it takes a long time and 600 cells.
