so i just bought this game for 5€, but everytime i try to start it up, my gbc fails to read it (you know, the "nintendo" part gets all messed up on the bottom)

first thing that came to mind is if the game is a bootleg, but the cartridge itself seems ok and un-opened even...

any solutions? i've had a good bargain if this game is the real deal, and i don't want it to go to waste...

I now clean my contacts with Hoppe's 9, a solvent for cleaning guns. Works VERY well. Games that were "clean" before still turned q-tips dark.

Just remember that solvents eat plastic, so less is more.

I clean my games with an eraser. The cheaper the better. It removes all of the dirt and moisture on the contacts and make them pretty shiny, making them work on first try everytime. It's magical.

Don't do this lol... There is a coating to prevent rust. The games won't make it another 10-20 years if you do this.
