I've enjoyed pretty much every game in my collection so far but my stand outs are
Popolocrois Monogatari series (ポポロクロイス物語)
Linda Cubed Again(リンダキューブ アゲイン)
ore no ryouri (俺の料理)
プルムイプルムイ
いただきストリートゴールデンキング
Moon is cool but a pain in the ass to read
B.L.U.E: Legend of Water (ブルー レジェンドオブウォーター)
densha de go(電車でGO)
The rest I liked are out in English I just played them in nip to practice, and I'm planning on getting a batch of 30 or so more jap ps1 games some time soon with many more in mind for future purchases.

Money Idol Exchanger is a neo geo puzzle game kinda like bubble bobble. It got an ACA port to PS4 and Switch if you look up vids for it. I don't know if the PS1 version has any extra features.

>> No.6635770

>>6634371
It's the feature that make FF unique, Dominated Minds leaves you with punch, kick, strong attack and taunt buttons, which simplifies even more the gameplay. I still have a special place in my heart for Real Bout 1, and even if I acknowledge the fact that Garou was a step in the right direction, plane switching gives a kind of dynamism hard to find in other 2d fighters

Not really, since most have features which cannot be replaced as I've only seen them on Playstation releases. So if they crack or shatter, another game may have to be canibalized for its case.

I am with >>6634371 as I got Dominated Mind on Playstation for the feature of removing the plane switching. I think it makes for a better game and more like the Fighting games I like. You could always emulate the original NeoGeo Real Bout Special, but the Playstation release takes the extra effort to consider the platform and make exclusive features to improve the game for a home audience. The plane switching of Fatal Fury games, seems like a jank feature for the original hardware, but it serves no purpose for the gameplay, as your regular and special moves do not apply when on different planes. Like the Capcom VS. games, the Playstation versions is superior because of the considerations for a home console audience, instead of being a pure arcade port.

I actually went and bought a real mvs cart of Money Idol Exchanger. It's a great game but the difficulty ramp in vs cpu mode is too fast. Stage 3 is pretty much a death sentence unless you're actually good.
Magical drop is much better in this regard. Also, the mono-only audio sucks because the neo geo is famous for it's great soundtracks in stereo. I still love it though. /blog

Photo-kun, you're better off when you just post pics, your opinions are starting to get pretty shitty. There are special attacks that are specifically for when you're on a different plane on RBS. The plane-switching is a part of the Fatal Fury gameplay, and taking it off takes part of the strategy involved. No extra features in Dominated mind make up for the fact it removed a fundamental aspect of the gameplay, yes, including Specials.
Stop shilling these bad PS1 ports when there's much better home ports available.

I really want that game, and I had to settle for getting it digitally on PSN and a bootleg multicart for my Chinese clone emulation machine. It was a pretty fun puzzle game I played in my school arcade back then.

>>6646191
I blame 4chan /vr/ maybe, but they are my opinions and I hold to them. I have all the Fatal Fury games available on Saturn, in fact I had them long before as it was my primary system, but I did get Dominated Mind for Playstation later specifically because it lacked the plane-shifting mechanic. By removing that unique feature of the Fatal Fury series, I think it plays like traditional 2D fighting games, like the excellent Garou: Mark of the Wolves. At all times a player has their full moveset available and should consider the spacing with their opponent, while with the plane-shifting mechanic new considerations are brought in like an attack which brings your opponent back to your own plane or plane-shift over to their plane safely. However, when on different planes, the movesets change. The Saturn version is pretty close to the arcade, but not perfectly there, if one wants the arcade they could emulate it, or get the NeoGeo ports.

Just before this current pandemic, coupled with the rising prices of videogames, I was forced to start importing from Mexico and South American countries for games. One of which is a Real Bout game for my Chinese clone emulation system. I fear the delivery truck may have been hijacked, but at best it is just stuck at the Mexican border. I'd like to play a better port of the Real Bout games, since I do like them. Blue Mary is best girl of series after all.

>while with the plane-shifting mechanic new considerations are brought in like an attack which brings your opponent back to your own plane or plane-shift over to their plane safely.
Right, that's how Fatal Fury always was. I wouldn't say plane-switching is necessarily "plane safety", it just brings more options to the table, there's more things to have into consideration. Garou looks great, but old Fatal Fury fans always criticized it for being too simple, and is in fact not part of the real Fatal Fury/Garou Densetsu series, more like a spinoff.
Dominated mind is simply a limited port, they didn't do the plane-switching because the PS1 couldn't handle it.
Also, while the Saturn port of RBS is not perfect (it's still missing animation frames) it still is a lot more faithful than dominated mind, not just because it retains the plane switch, but also because it still does have more animation frames.
RBS on Saturn is pretty good for the VS mode and the practice mode, the only drawback is the loading times.

>fun fact - one of the few ps1 games that has native 480i output
The more PS1 games I play, the more I realize there's not a "few" games that have 480i output. There's a surprising amount of them. Ridge Racer Bonus, Gamera 2000, Ganbare Goemon: Kuru Nara Koi, Tekken 3, etc. PS1 had a lot of power to pump out 480i60 games like these. Even if they don't hold it perfectly, it's a real achievement.
