I just can't seem to like it, the character is weird, the overall design of stuff is pretty tripped out and weird as well, the soundtrack is pretty subpar (excluding Beach) and the difficulty is badly scaled, the game gets pretty hard, really fast

Their previous title, a (now unavailable) puzzle game called Magnetic Billiards, took almost 5 years to be completed. A full platformer would likely be more work than 2 part time developers can do.

True to an extent, but still a pretty decent platformer, especially for being non-japanese.
I think it has a very unique feel, not only because of the music, but the game has, dare I say, soul.
Its only flaw is not having unlimited continues or passwords, it's brutal.
