Hello
What if we actually translated the big budget anime games that were big in Japan and cornered the weeb market instead of ignoring it and eventually losing the sport market??

hey what if we admitted we were a niche system and realized we could save people the process of importing games and release them ourselves and promote them as they should have been

oh and rpgs being on the uptick well wouldn't it be smart to promote this first party one that was literally the most expensive game of all time

If you did a cost analysis on how much they'd have had to spend to market their various RPGs to start really pulling in ourchases, they'd have had to spend the crazy money that Sony did with those theatrical trailers and shit, and then the games would have had to been as good or approachable as FFVII, which none of them were.

You could see it with Shenmue. They did that kind of expansive widespread marketing there, and while the games sold alright, it still wasn't enough to make up for everything else and what they'd invested.

Basically they fucked themselves too badly early on to make up anything at all, and sometimes cutting your losses means you can live to fight again, which they did, and it was very nearly a major success.

Since you did the cost analysis post your work
