Sega and id were far more influential to gaming then Nintendo ever was in the 90s. Mario 64 was built off Croc and Ocarina of Time was predated by Mystical Ninja. You can really only say truly innovated handheld gaming. If there was some way way to flip Sega and Nintendo’s fate Nintendo should’ve been the one that went 3rd party.

Super mario bros 3, alttp, super mario world, doc and s bunch of other nintendo heavy hitters came out in the 90's though.

You must be completely retarded. Also sage

Postan in an Aussie cunt thread but how is that retard from Argonaut seriously going to try and tell people Nintendo ripped off Croc? Unless their inspiration was taking one look at the prototype and saying "wow that's a load of shit, lets do the opposite" I can't see it.

You can say they don't get enough credit without making a company war thread. But then, you'd actually have to want to talk about the arcade innovations Sega made instead of stumbling over Mario's testicles.

>> No.6603975

Sega was always mainly an arcade company who was dabbling in the home console market. Sega going third party wasn't really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. They're still one of the major players in the arcade scene.

This is why the Astro City mini cab is gonna sell like hotcakes. All the other mini's are garbage.
>Actual microswitched stick and buttons.
>Arcade ports, not console
>Actually molded from the same plastic as the Astro City arcade cabs.
>Sick ass looking game pad for multiplayer.
>First official release of Golden Axe II: Revenge of Death Adder
If I were to buy a mini cab, this is the one I'd get.

Also, if it has the curved, smoked panel in front of the screen as shown in this pic, even better!

While I enjoy nintendo's games. To me the nes output is they at their best and much of their badassery was lost at the snes era.

NES era Nintendo was definitely the best. SNES was good but unlike the NES, it wasn't supported by third parties, the SNES was kept alive by third parties. Their first party stuff never quite seemed to do it for me after the SNES.

The pad is pretty awesome. I might just grab the pad and ignore the rest. Also there will be an astro themed arcade stick later on as well. Hopefully that one will have a seimitsu stick inside.

What's the fucking point. They're selling it at a price of a nice arcade stick, just buy it instead and emulate for free?

A dying scene kept alive by meme games

Selling it as an arcade stick probably would've been a better choice. I have no idea how anyone keeps convincing their boss that mini "bartop" style is the way to go.

Nintendo was a worldwide sensation. I think you need to get out a dictionary and look up the word "influential". Just because they didn't create the idea itself, doesn't mean their piece of media wasn't influential. You have to be very delusional to think that Croc was more influential to gaming today than Mario 64 was, same with Mystical Ninja compared with OOT. Sage
