/vr/ have you EVER managed to find a bargain on eBay? If so what was it? I swear I can't even find common games on there for under $30 and I look all the time.

>> No.658118

I got Breath of Fire II for 41 dollars + 5 bucks shipping...

not a bargain but I was just happy it was below 50 for a b-list SNES RPG

>> No.658120

only GBA, nothing retro

>> No.658127

Yea, I bought up most of my collection for the nes/snes/n64 through really cheap ebay auctions in 2005. Got Megaman 4,5, and 7 for $20 or so each that way.

Gamecube and PS2 games are usually reasonable, but as for retro I haven't done much shopping there lately. Famicom games are always reasonable though.

Not really... I get decent deals on Gamecube titles like Resident Evil 4, Four Swords Adventure, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, and some common N64 games (Banjo 1 & 2 and Glover)
But for really good stuff or even *SLIGHTLY* uncommon stuff prepare to get ripped off by shit heads like Big Game Jew

WHY IS IT WORTH SO MUCH?!?!
AND DON'T SAY AWAKENING, IT'S BEEN GOING ON EVEN BEFORE THEN

>> No.658178

I've had bargains, but it's only ever been on stuff advertised as collection only.

A massive collection of Amiga stuff which included a £100+ accelerator for £20. A Mega Drive 1 & 2, Gamegear, and games for £14. A minty fresh and boxed Commodore monitor for £5. Generally system bundles and stuff that people are too lazy to post or that's too heavy to easily ship can be picked up on the cheap around me. It's probably because I live in a lifeless shit pit of a town, though obviously this limits what comes up and how often too.

As for general ebay stuff? Not a fucking chance, though I tend to stick to forum communities and the like these days.

I've already given up on carboot sales this season too. If you're not there before opening and acting the rude cunt by rummaging through the poor sellers' stuff while they're trying to unpack you'll get literally nothing because the "Got any mobile phones or computer games?" ebay fuckfaces will have got everything but the 100 identical copies of FIFA.

Got a Hi-Saturn model 2, almost mint, but turns out it was also modchipped - and it came with 7-8 games. Cost around 70 GBP. Worth 3-4 times as much.

Seiken Densetsu 2 & 3 for 99 cents each. Recently

Duke Nukem 64 cart + the guide and manual for 3+ 5 for shipping that was in 2005 when I first started using it.

Auctions are the only way to go and have patience. I got maze of galious for 99 cents, commando 99 cents, on buy it nows from some white guy living on the moon listing games with literally translated names lol.

Auctions are the best way to go decide how much you want to spend and just try and always win it at that price.

>> No.661718

Yep. I put in my maximum price when its about to end. Recently, I made some other guy pay more than other listings for a game I wanted because he wanted to drive up the price. I didn't want the game *that* bad, but now that guy is paying 100 bucks for something I wanted for 50.

It's not retro but I got a game cube with all the cables, GBA linker, gameboy player w/ disc, a controller and resident evil 4, all for 60 dollars. I bought SoTN for 10 bucks and he said the disc was very scratched but plays perfectly. The game came and it has very light surface scratches and plays amazingly. I could even have it resurfaced if I wanted to but its really not necessary. I sent that nigga a message thanking him for being such a bro and wished more ebayers were as good with their listings as he was.

Also Ebay is only over priced if you want to buy it now, if you have patience you can usually win an auction at a much fairer price.

How do you determine a good price for Japanese games?

>> No.662036

>>662004
It depends, if you are good at finding it and searching listings you can get stuff for really cheap. A lot of my imports were 99 cents and 20 dollars for the more expensive ones. You just have to check often Japanese stuff goes up for cheap all the time so if the prices look too high just wait for another seller.
