What is /vr/'s opinion on the RG350M?

>> No.6576634

Don't know about the RG350M, but the regular RG350 is serviceable.
It has worked fine for every game I have played on it except the Playstation and N64. Most PS1 games work fine, although some games like Crash Team Racing have massive slowdown. N64 games just won't play well at all, though I don't know if that's a hardware or software problem.
Not terrible for the price, but you can do much better.

>>6576625
If it can't do n64 then in current year it's pointless to even make the console.

Interesting, which handheld devices can emulate demanding stuff like Gamecube games?

someone on youtube just reviewed a better chink device. it looks like an og GBA, all black with a Vita analog. it actually loads from cartridges.
build quality looks like shit but it can do /some/ N64.

phones? other than that the expensive stuff like the GPD. which all look uncomfortable to hold.

I've seen people make wii's into handheld devices but you need your master's in starship design first.

If you have a relatively new Android phone then that'll be your best bet for getting Gamecube games to run. It's also easy to just buy or use a compatible Bluetooth controller. Other than phones, you'd need something more expensive like a GPD.
Spending a lot of money and getting something proper isn't a bad idea if it's something you're going to use a lot.

I don't know about stuff like the GPD and the Shield, but high-end phones are perfectly capable of running Dolphin.

My phone has 2.5 ghz and 3 gigs ram and it didn't work on it. I plan to hack.exe a wii instead because fuck paying so much money for a very expensive device when at that point you could have bought a 50 usd laptop and coupled it with a real gamecube with real games you own for such a price as gpd's.

>> No.6576681

People who want to play not /vr/ shit on not original hardware have to pay the early adopter tax. They get taxed hard, long, and deep for an experience inferior to what will be available to people in the future for a much lower price.

speed is secondary to generation. both lynnfield and skylake can do 3ghz but one is much faster than the other.
a snapdragon 865 can emulate dolphin at full speed.

this, but id even go as far to say if it cant do 3ds (in 3d, glasses free), wii\gc and atleast ps2 they shouldnt be making it. you can emulate them on a fairly decent pc with ease. Id even say flawless switch emulation should be on the list too. also, a full hardware keyboard is basically a necessity, and atleast 18+ hr battery life under heavy load.
if they cant deliver atleast ALL this for under $49 USD, then dont even bother drawing up blueprints

>all this sarcasm

It came too late to be worth while. Androids kill the things. Gp2x/pandora/dragon-box_pyra tier era is over before it began. It's why pocketchip failed and now randomly organizations are going full jewtendo making flash backs that are dated in their potential. It's backwards.

a lot of people dont want a full android bloat on a handheld gaming machine. these devices boot almost instantly (like old consoles do), and you can safely hard power off (0 drain) at any time.
Pandora\dragonbox dragged their feet for far too long and I 100% agree they are dated as fuck for what they are (still neat tho, and id pick one up if i saw it for $30-$40). pocketchip wanted to undercut pi's, and succeeded until the pi0 came along for $5.
Mini consoles are OVERPOWERED for what they do - no fucking idea on why u think they are dated. You can run all kinds of shit on the nes classic that ISNT nes

I mean you can buy literally anything else. It's pointless to make the console because it doesn't do anything any other consoles don't. If you can choose between a console that plays 4 generations of games and one that plays 5 you'll choose the second.

Shit, you can buy a PSP for like $40 and it plays everything up to 4th gen, plus PS1 and PSP games.

>> No.6577401

>>6577174
the right hand isn't the problem, the left hand is. Holding a chunkier device like that at the corner sucks.

>> No.6577408

Literally the only thing I'd care about N64 games being playable on portable devices is if it can run Paper Mario well. Are there any of these things that can play Paper Mario well?

no, they are asking like $500 or some shit...IF I saw one for 30-40 (which is what i think it is worth to me) I would get one.

>>In 2005 they would be.
there are a lot of unused resources while flawlessly emulating the console. this makes it overpowered. If they sold it as "NES MINI + DOOM ETERNAL 4K" then it would be under powered yes.

I have a feeling you are low IQ or ESL (or both?)

>> No.6579031

RK2020 is more powerful cuz it can do Dreamcast and PSP. (And also N64, PS1, Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, and Lynx, Game Gear, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Master System, Genesis, TurboGrafx16, TurboGrafxCD, and Sega CD.) It's just a clone of the ODroid Go Advance, but that comes a kit you have to assemble while the RK2020 comes prebuilt. (Though it doesn't come with firmware, there's a couple of different Linux firmwares you can choose between.) The Moqi i7s is more powerful and can even do Wii, Gamecube, and PS2, but it's way more expensive and is essentially just an Android phone with buttons. I don't own any of them, but from what I've seen my only real gripe with the RK2020 is that the analog stick is under the D-Pad instead of the other way around, though I guess that's just personal preference.

It's a flashback that can't do what 30 usd androids can do now, emulate n64, ergo it's underpowerd for how much it costs and for it's time period.

It has untapped potential in it's hardware? Then don't release it in pre-64 beta form next time.

>Moqi i7s can even do Wii, Gamecube, and PS2
the thing is, Android has absolutely dogshit emulators, so many PS2 games will still run pretty badly, and those which are playable will have huge FPS drops (see https://youtu.be/qput0wg_q9k?t=736, for instance). Also, the d-pad of that thing is just not that great. If you want stable emulation of 6th gen consoles (and maybe some games from 7th gen ones like Wii maybe even PS3 but the emulator is still very indev or 8th gen ones like WiiU and 3DS) make sure to either get one of these newer GPD devices or the OneGX.
