Hello gentlemen, I think it is time that we had another classic Star Fox thread. 1, 2, 64, and related media are welcome.

I fucking love 64, particularly the jap version, because of the voice acting.
One of the few games i can replay many times and not get tired of it.

>> No.6571439

is there any version of starfox 2, emulator or official, that doesn't run like complete shit? Nothing I've tried runs higher than 10fps.

64 was so epic. I remember it came with a vhs cassette explaining the rumble pack.

I also loved the replay value it had because it was somewhat non linear.

I never actually played any of her games, but...

For me there are only three Star Fox games; Star Fox, Star Fox 2, Star Fox 64. Utter cringe after that.

Thing like this is why I don't ever want another F-Zero. The series isn't gonna go anywhere good from here, why do people want mediocrity just to satisfy their "omg new game" reaction? How are F-Zero fans old enough to want a new game and yet not recognize the obvious result of a far-flung new release by who-knows-what team? How are F-Zero fans not old enough and experienced enough with the standard cash-in sequel to see yet how this dance is done and recognize the inevitable?

How do you fuck up F-Zero? It's not the same situation as Star Fox. The absolute bare minimum they would have to do to justify making a new F-Zero is add online, that's it, that's all, they could probably just make F-Zero X or GX in HD with online and people would be happy.

Star Fox needs a more interesting single player campaign in order to justify making a new one, but even that, you could argue they could do the same but add an online dogfight mode.

You also don't know any real life video game characters. It's one of those "Dude what if video game characters reacted realistically", and no matter how much players might not like Slippy, the rest of Star Fox are good friends with him...

Although Rareware's take on Fox might actually get a giggle out of it. He was kind of a whiny asshole.

I have no reason to believe in developers, been let down too many times. Just can't put faith in totally different teams of creatives to make a comparable product to match your expectations.

Some people like the extra weight. And like anon said, it makes guns and explosions feel more cool, especially combined with slowdown during intense moments.

Yes, it's Star Fox 2 with a story, a branching campaign with several endings, a better tactical map and several of those tactical maps and a solid frame rate, but with touch-based controls that take some getting used to.
You're right, it is like a finished version of Star Fox 2.

Command is enjoyable if you ignore the story. Plus the controls are very manageable with the thumb strap. It also make the Mario 64 remake playable. I wonder why Nintendo stopped packaging these with when they released the 3DS.

I honestly would like a game set in the F-Zero universe. It's such a weird locale that I think warrants exploration, maybe it could be a game about Falcon or Goroh going about their bounty hunting adventures or some shit. Amusement Vision was turned into the Yakuza studio, perhaps they could do an F-Zero themed reskin of Yakuza where Falcon has to apprehend criminals and eventually square off against Black Shadow.

A wise man once said that Nintendo's developers are selfish and only make the games they want to make, which is not necessarily (and often isn't) what the market wants them to make.

Command was enjoyable BECAUSE of the story, you plebs. If you can't enjoy cheesy furry space opera shit, why even bother with Starfox when there are technically better space shooters out there?

The F-Zero reference was neat, but it was like a framed photo of a pleasant memory, and the frame is made of shit. If I was after cheesy furry space opera shit, I'd read the comic again.

That's such a lame fucking excuse, do you only ever play one game in each genre and not bother with anything else if there's something "technically better"? Seems like a really dumb way to limit yourself.
