sort of dumb but, the back of the box for timesplitters 2 features the player holding a version of the soviet rifle that isn't in the game. it's kind of a sly reference to the back of the goldeneye box, which also showed bond holding a version of the K7 soviet that didn't make it into the game.

I can't remember the name of this game now. It was a long-box PS1 game, it was a flight-combat game. It had live action cut scenes for the briefings, and there was a cheat code to have a live action cutscene of a woman dancing for you, like a reward from the commanding officer for doing a job well done. I used to jerk it to that all the time, before we had internet.

there is a secret passage in the circus level of blood, where duke nukem is mutilated and hung by the leg. caleb makes a witty remark that I cannot recall like now and you can poke him with the pitchfork.

similar thing in duke nukem. when you're in prison, you can find the mutilated corpse of doomguy in the prison chapel. you have to go there, click something behind the altar and the big cross on the wall turns into an inverted cross and the whole room is lit red. you can find a machinegun right next to doomguy

thats not true. warcraft: orcs and humans was originally intended to be a warhammer game, until the deal with Games Workshop fell through, and they rebranded it as their own.

starcraft just heavily borrows from warhammer 40K because most of the creative team at blizzard are unoriginal hacks.

Basically, you had this simple "skip\dodge" button, that you could use to hop quickly in different directions. If you did it as a forward-hop, it almost looked like you were humping the air.

If you did that precise move on the posterior of one of the Cow NPCs, extra-lives would pop out.

He actually shows up in-game in Jedi Knight (DF2). I don't remember the level name, but it was one of the open "market"-like town areas, with a few rivers. You have to wait until a certain female townsfolk exits their house, then slip inside and poof, he's just hangin out.

You COULD kill him if you wanted, but why do that when you can activate and partner up with him for a little bit. Gotta love that dodgy as fuck AI.

3D Realms games have straight up whacked-out loads of Easter Eggs. It's part of the reason most of us loved them a decade and a half ago...

One of my favorites was in Shadow Warrior. It's pretty early on, I want to say within the first 3 levels, you can find a somewhat hidden room which features this rendition of Croft.

What's funny is they changed the model for later revisions of the game to look exactly like a polygonal version. The second version is less provocative, however. I wonder if Edios threatened to sue the fuck out of them.

Also, in the PSX Duke games the amount of sexual innuendo leveled at Lara Croft is almost disturbing. I love misogynistic humor, but after a while it starts to get creepy...

In the pseduo-horror game Illbleed, one of the bosses bares a striking resem--okay it's just Sonic but demonized and just a little bit fucking terrifying. When you hit him, rings spew out, which I thought was pretty funny.

The interesting thing is that Neversoft developed the Spider-man games fro the PS1/N64 so there's easter eggs pertaining to THPS in both of those games as well. Sadly, you don't get to play as a skater in either of those games and it's just a billboard or two with THPS's logo on it.

Matter of fact, Spider-Man 1 and 2 both run on the THPS engine, so there you go.

Now there's also another game that runs on the THPS engine, it's that shitty Bruce Willis phone in, Apocalypse.

There's a logo for the game in What-If? mode in Spiderman 1 during the Venom boss fight. It even has the game's release date on the wall next to it. It's a blurry, but it's there. Oh, Neversoft.

In Space Station Silicon Valley, the sheep robots couldn't do much but at least let you move around without losing energy.

One thing they could at least do was eat flowers. Funnily enough the game tracks how many flowers you've eaten and lets you re-plant them by baaing.

A little thing, but amusing none the less.

Interesting thing about the High Definition Pack.

It was originally made because of the Dreamcast port. They devs knew the PowerVR chip was strong, and wanted to utilize it, and so they made better textures, models and everything, Blue Shift was also going to be part of the Half Life port, the HD pack did eventually come out for PC afterwards.
