Let's talk about our favourite ninja games. One of mine which I'm currently playing is Kaze Kiri - Ninja Action for PC Engine.

Never really liked it until a few months ago, now it's one of my favorite games of all time.

Mystical Ninja Goemon (if that counts). I'm going through the snes games right now with a buddy. Fun stuff :)

I've always enjoyed the music in the series (classic Konami mane).

Same here. I always had trouble with the platforming in the 1st and 2nd game (more so with the former). The 2nd one is particularly frustating for me because there are quite a few times where I have to pull of a few blind jumps. It's trial and error sure but I kind of wish I didn't have to resort to that

Wrath of Heaven was amazing too but not /vr/

It's undoubtedly a classic, but it feels so grounded and clunky in comparison to the flow and sheer pace of Shinobi III that it's never going to top it for me. I'd actually rate the original arcade Shinobi slightly above Revenge, but I'll gladly admit that could well be down to nostalgia as it was one of the first arcade games I really got stuck in to.

Heck, I love the whole Shinobi series. Both versions of Shadow Dancer deserve more love than they seem to get and I've even got a soft spot for the Legions, ropey acting and all.

Ninja Cop/Ninja Five-O deserves a mention. It's not /vr/ in age but it absolutely is in spirit and it's neck and neck with Shinobi III for me.

Totally not /vr/ material at all, but: Mark of the Ninja is also fucking magnificent.

Not if you're a Britfag it's not. They're not 'ninjas', they're 'Heroes!'

Because changing a word in the title totally stopped us kids making out own nunchucks and - like ever kid foolhardy enough to emulate Michelangelo - splitting our own heads open with dirty lumps of wood.

My favorite SNES game ever. Even before I played it, I knew it was gonna be awesome just from the description. Turns out I was wrong. It was even better.

And holy fuck I'm cumming buckets over the soundtrack. Hiroyuki Iwatsuki has never written bad music in his life, but he has truly outdone himself here.

If accusing anyone who flipped through a MAME romset when they were 17 of being an "AVGN fag" is going to be a thing we need to make "AVGN" a banfiltered word immediately.

You don't let whether or not some annoying youtube celebrity has played your game affect your fucking enjoyment of it. What the fuck is next, people hating on Kirby Super Star and Banjo Kazooie because Game Grumps played them?

He was always Goemon+Sasuke since he could never master Ebishu's high jump and Yae was one of my early waifus.

that's Live a Live, each character/chapter has a distinct gameplay style. it's all RPG but the Ninja chapter has you running around a feudal castle and you can either stealth past all the enemies carefully or slaughter everything in your path, including innocents

then there's the caveman chapter where there is no dialogue and you get to see titties
