If that's the case I probably won't bother with trying to play american games on my jap saturn. I thought there was a cart that let you play american games without any mods? Most american games are too expensive anyway and I'm not really an rpg guy. the Japanese games should be enough for me. I do have a loose American copy of area 51 from when I had a US saturn. Oh well

Bros what is a good memory card for Japanese saturns then? Also what are some game recommendations based on my collection?

I'm guessing your jap level is pretty low based on the games here so get every single racing game you can, they're all great, especially manx tt superbike and sega touring cars.

Get a jap fighters megamix. I recently grabbed one for £6 in the UK so I don't suppose it would be too much more in the US. Absolutely fantastic game and playable with very little Japanese (only the options)

No, just the discs. An Action Replay can be used as a memory card and as RAM card as well. There's also Pseudo Saturn and modchips if you want to play backups, which are relatively easy easy to install.

Not "House Of The Dead"? Is this a Mandela Effect?

>> No.6549323

What a shit port this was. The Saturn was pure cringe.

>> No.6549326

>>6549312
I mean it's not like everyone says the "The" at the beginning of a title for something. A more well known case of the Mandela effect is how everyone calls Star Wars Episode I Racer "Pod Racer" so much we think that's the official title when it isn't.

>> No.6549338

>>6549312
Idk man sometimes we just put the in front of titles and sometime we dont. Like Grateful dead for example. I always say "The Grateful Dead", but the name of the band is just "Grateful dead". Same thing for Talking Heads and other band names. Idk

>> No.6549356

>>6549323
I think it's fine. I grew up playing the arcade version and yet I still like this port. It only cost me like ten bucks for the jap saturn version and I have gotten lots of enjoyment and nostalgia from playing it. I could emulate it, but I don't have a light gun for my PC. I could buy the arcade cabinet, but that would cost a lot more. Considering there are no other console versions of the game I'd say the saturn version is fine. However, I wouldn't pay the price for the american version.
Are you the same guy in every saturn thread bitching about this game not being arcade perfect? I have a feeling you are...

And yet House Of The Dead Scarlet Dawn doesn't have the extra "The" in front of the title. The movie of "House Of The Dead", doesn't have the extra "The" in front of the title either.

>>6549338
I doubt anyone will ever refer to the band Slipknot as "The Slipknot" or Cradle Of Filth as "The Cradle Of Filth" anytime soon.

Exactly because it would just sound weird to call certain bands that. Just like it sounds weird calling "House Of The Dead" as "The House Of The Dead". I also distinctly remember that "Of The" was always in the middle of the logo. It never had two "The" on top of "House" and "Dead".

>>6549682
Scarlet Dawn is proof of the Mandela Effect residue. Same with the movie of House Of The Dead, which came out in 2003. Even the "Of The" part of the logo remains in the middle between "House" and "Dead" on the movie cover. Just as I remember it being.

Yep! The Action Replay 4M Plus goes into the RAM expansion slot of the Saturn. It does a few of things. Number one, and the reason I use it, region bypass. Number Two, it's a save backup cart so you can back your saves up onto it and when the watch battery dies on the Saturn you can just replace it and put your old saves and settings back on the Saturn good as new. 3 it's a 4 MB and 1MB RAM expansion. Lots of games use the expansion to preserve more fluid animation, good examples are SF Zero 3, Waku Waku 7, the KoF games and basically every other fighting game worth touching on the platform. Finally, the card has built in cheats for some games. I don't use them but if that's your thing then there you go. It's basically a 1 stop shop for everything you'd need for a Saturn meaning you barely need to change the cart at all. The only cases I can think of the cart not working are the ROM expansion games. There are only 3 of them but one of them is KoF 95 and basically some of the game is stored on the cartridge as opposed to everything on the disc. Your Saturn is Japanese though so you can actually use those.

>> No.6552037

>>6549000
Note that the Action Replay doesn't function the same as the regular Backup RAM cart - you'll have to save to the System RAM and then manually manage your files.

Get a stack of CD-Rs one of the red Pseudo saturn all-in-one carts from China. They have the 1 and 4mb ram functions and 8mb save backup. They bypass region lock and copy protection.
