No idea, but I love the combination of purple with the light grey.
Also like that the X and Y buttons are on a lighter shade of purple.
Super Nintendo is the only console where I feel owning both models is absolutely necessary if you care about having the best aesthetics. Both offer something unique.

The attract demo for Kirby's Dream Course has a controller with green and turquoise buttons. Makes me think NOA missed a cool opportunity to make controllers with a variety of button colors, red and pink, orange and yellow, blue and teal, etc.
